UPDATED With The Video: ‘Sarah Palin Reconsider’ Ad In Iowa: Windmill Jousting, Doolittle Raid, Both?

via Surber, here is the ad:

He says:

My take on it is simple: If she is on the ballot in the West Virginia primary in May, I shall vote for her. She is my first choice.

I’m even simpler: I’ll write the lady in, if possible. A lot of people, like Teach in the comments, are miffed that she took so long to bow out quietly. Maybe that’s her final word. Even if it is, the dangling threat of her lives rent-free in the mind of the Left. Let’s keep the mind-frak going, and fight for the Constitutional restoration we need, ye patriots.

Previously:
Via GinTheGin on Twitter, Conservatives4Palin reports:

Your contributions have made it possible for us to run the Palin reconsider television ad next week in the Sioux City, Iowa market. Thanks to everyone who chipped in to make it possible.
You’ll be able to see the ad that will be shown on televisions on KCAU-TV across the Sioux City, Iowa market on this blog and on youtube when it goes up next week. If you have any ideas on how to get this story more attention, let us know and feel free to push it yourself to people who may be interested. The target date for this ad going up is now November 29th as the Thanksgiving holidays pushed our initial target date of November 28th back. At the very latest, we expect to get it up on the Sioux City market on the 30th.
What we do next after the television ad goes up is a more difficult question. If this ad is able to build some momentum for the Governor, the best way to keep that momentum going may be to commission a national GOP primary poll that includes the Governor as one of the options. We’ll see if it’s possible given our resources. We’re open to other ideas but the greatest challenge may be that time is running short for her to reconsider.

Sarah is now a fortnight past the magic Reagan date (13 November) for declaring candidacy. Sure, I’ll write her in during the primary, and support whoever wins. Yeah, it would be 47 kinds of swell if this advertising campaign proved more of a Doolittle Raid on our Ruling Class Overlords than an exercise in tilting at windmills.

However, the tsunami of hormones that would be unleashed if Sarah were to enter the race is non-trivial. I really don’t want to consider her at the top of the ticket for more than about a one minute thought experiment. And that is merely to wonder if the the head ‘splosions on the left would reach critical mass, so that the rest of the Left could join Thomas Friedman in singing the China Syndrome Blues. Walking back the hyperbole, one could envision the winner of the GOP primary, especially in the case of Newt, trying to offer her the VP slot, to polish the résumé for a 2020 run. Because, whoever is going to be on the GOP ticket, the Tea Parties have got to ensure some continuity. Recovering from the Progressive hangover is going to be neither quick nor painless.

Besides: is there really better blog fodder than Sarah Palin news?

Update: now a Memeorandum thread, and via the Des Moines Register:

The ad is set to air beginning on Nov. 30.
Palin, a conservative superstar and media phenomenon following the 2008 campaign, flirted with a presidential bid for months, but announced she would not run in a letter to supporters in early October.
The ad buy was announced this afternoon in a blog post on the Conservatives4Palin website. It is possible due to continued contributions to the organization, which is unaffiliated with Palin and her political operations.
The group acknowledged that convincing Palin to run now is a long shot.

Theory: this is a little shot o’er the bow for the Dems, in case they hoist the Hillary flag.

That’s one way to get the first female president: both parties nominate a lady.

I just wish the Left, including Democrats, would follow the example of their ideological godfather, Adolf Hitler, and bite the magic bullet. All roughly one hundred million of them, or whatever the numbers are in their legions of the damned. I’m especially sick of hearing their self-serving reasoning that since we’re a democracy we owe it to our “shared values” to put our head on the chopping block every year and allow a thin majority to sell the rest of us living today and all of our future descendants into a kind of slavery which we have no moral or ethical right to impose on them.

I had hoped that Sarah Palin was the magic antidote. She is the magic clove of garlic to the leftist vampire horde, and their visceral reaction to her is very telling. Unfortunately, she has other factors to consider which take precedence over being the figurehead symbol of the dead and decaying carcass of a once great nation. As much as it pains me to do so, I feel obliged to respect her wishes in this regard. Who knows, maybe she will be a bigger factor than she could have ever hoped to be as standard bearer for a party long led by a coterie of cowards and scoundrels.

Now that would be awesome.  Even if she didn’t actually run but instead just announced her candidacy and then a few days later just go “psych!”.

The exploding heads all over would be living in a real by God “Scanners” movie!

One view of Newt’s grand plan which I read a few months back suggested that he envisioned a conservative dynasty, started by himself (natch), with a segway to a fully groomed Palin, for a 16 year revolution.
    Who knows?

Especially after this op-ed, I remain convinced that Palin is the one who will eventually take a broom to the halls of congress, and chase the whores and moneylenders from the people’s temple:

Palin played her little game of tweaking the media for a year about running/not running, to the point she started to annoy many of the people who wanted, and expected, her to run. She kept putting it off. We’d get a date to announce one way or the other, then she’d blow it off. Finally, she said she isn’t running, ticking many fans off. And now she has kinda disappeared from the scene.

As one used to be Palin fan who was highly annoyed, she should stay disappeared in the presidential election scene. If she wants to do something, run for Senate or the House.

I realize the pace of elections has increased beyond all sanity, however … didn’t Richard Nixon only announce his candidacy for the 1968 election in February of … 1968?

I think I’ll do the write-in bit, too. At this point I don’t have tremendous urges to support any of the declared Republican candidates. A write in, in the primary, for Sarah Palin will at least nudge some not-completely-stupid Republican “elites”. Hey! We don’t like the candidates you guys keep ‘choosing’ for us! Hey! Wake up! Stop picking YOUR faves for us! Hey! You! *waves* We are growing to hate you!

I submit you may be missing the strategy for the tactics.
She didn’t just jump in, knowing that she would become Obama’s campaign strategy: Defeat That Woman.
Now, if the Democrat Illuminati decide to run Hillary, and make the 2012 slogan: ‘Vote for Hillary or you are sexist’, then, suddenly, Sarah can decide to run, and we get a cat fight.
And, if it’s a good enough cat fight, how long will your annoyance last?

Hitler was a totalitarian fascist dictator, which philosophy more closely aligns with the authoritarian-corporatist tenets of the Republican party than with the capitalist-socialist viewpoint of the Democratic party.

And doesn’t Sarah Palin have a 3-1/2 year old child with a need for daily therapy to raise?  One would think that would be her first priority for the next 5 years or so.

  14. Anonymous
    November 26th, 2011 @ 9:00 am

Short of abolishing the U.S. Constitution, how do you envision Palin doing that?

And doesn’t she have to mount a robust campaign, and  be elected by a majority of the American electorate first, to SOME position of authority?  She’s been on the sidelines now for 3 years and hasn’t shown any sign that she wants to get on the field and play ball.

Are you really willing to accept that Sarah Palin has intentionally avoided all 14 of the GOP primary debates so far, and presumably will avoid the upcoming 13 debates between December 10th and March 19th next year?

It’d be kinda nice to hear her articulate her vision for America in a setting that goes beyond a private studio, a scripted interview and a teleprompter (yes, she uses one in her Wasilla Fox broadcasts) and no live audience.

In other words, a real challenge, toe to toe with other candidates.

  16. Anonymous
    November 26th, 2011 @ 9:17 am

    “A fully groomed Palin…”

Well, an opportunity for her to be “fully groomed” came up after the 2008 campaign, but she chose to stop acting as governor in March 2009 when she signed that book contract, and actually quit being governor in July 2009.

She was groomed by the Washington Speakers Bureau, and by Roger Ailes, and she became quite familiar with Facebook and Twitter.

So, for the past 3 years she’s been groomed for a position in broadcasting/social media.  Where are the political groomers, and who are they?  Sarah Palin has pretty much holed up in Wasilla Alaska lately, which is a rather uninviting place to be groomed for a position in national politics, especially when the groomee is basically just a housewife without a job.

If the field has been winnowed down to Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman by the time of the Georgia primary, writing in Sarah Palin seems like an acceptable protest act — but there are still candidates in the field right now that I’ll be happy to support instead, if they last that long.

I always wonder about people who get things so exactly opposite of reality. Any critical look at simple facts demonstrates that it’s the donks who are the authoritarian-corporatist party. Why do people say such stupid stuff, is it a feeling of “well, if I repeat it enough, it must be true!” or is it more “I don’t want to admit the fact that what I’ve always considered “my” side, the “good” guys, no longer even pretend to represent anyone or anything except their own power, so I’ll just deny reality”. Facts are stubborn things.

  30. ThePaganTemple

And Democrats are fascist totalitarian dictators who want to use the power of the federal government to control every aspect of everybody’s life, from cradle to the grave. That might be all right with you but its damn sure not all right with me, and the day is coming when your type won’t get to make that kind of decision for the rest of us.

As for Palin, number one, I can’t wait for a Democrat bitch to give birth to a special needs child. I’m going to make damn sure I talk about it the same way you slime talk about Trig, then I want to see you bitch about it while I laugh. Of course first you’re going to have to find a Democrat cunt with the integrity to give birth to such a child as opposed to sacrificing it to the nearest idol of Molech, otherwise known as your friendly neighborhood Planned Parenthood abortion clinic.

And believe it or not, she’s smart enough to multitask, which means you can count on her being front and center during the election campaigning for the kind of conservative candidates who will work to see your kind relegated to the ash heap of history where you fucking belong.

Hopefully after so much time is passed your kind will be little more than a footnote, with just enough of a legacy for succeeding generations to know and understand exactly what your ideology really is, and what it’s ultimate and unavoidable result always is.

Oh, and by the way, in case you haven’t caught on, its Democrats who want to manipulate and control corporations and the banking industry through the kind of regulations that hamstring their smaller, not as well positioned competitors while those same corporations just adapt and pass on the cost of doing business to all the rest of us. Do a thorough check of real history and you’ll see Hitler did the same thing. But of course, you don’t care. You have a welfare check coming your way. Cunt.

This is money not well spent.  Palin is not going to reconsider – nor should she.  If there’s a fear that Newt’s too easy of a target, think of the media circus surrounding a Palin re-entry into the race.

On a much smaller scale, we’re seeing the Palin treatment extended to the sports arena where,  as was the case with Sarah, the media are not covering themselves in glory … http://bit.ly/qVdDUt

I was as disappointed as anyone when Sarah decided not to run, and I’ve always been leery of the “living free in their head” and “they’ll tell you who they fear” meams, just because we’re conservatives and are generally reality based doesn’t mean that we’re not always human and susceptible to projection, but good lord. Smitty starts a thread in the middle of the night about an amateur video concerning idle speculation about Sarah Palin, and by morning of the following day, which happens to  be a weekend following a national holiday, MMFA already has a paid troll assigned to the thread, blasting away. *shakes head* Veeeeeery interesting.

Read the preamble: We are all in it to win it, for us and those who come after.  Not just We the Conservatives, or We the White, or We the Cunts.  All of us, and you do not have to like it.  In fact, your like or dislike is not required.  It changes nothing.

Until the GOP puts forward policies which unite the country, your rage will continue apace unabated.

  38. James Knauer

“The donks” did not waste their time since the “watershed” election of 2010 (in which less than 50% of 50% of all voters chose conservative candidates, equaling not even a mandate for a trip to the john) passing zero jobs bills into law, but did pass draconian veto-certain legislation to insert government into the private medical decisions of women, who will now be turning away from GOP candidates come voting-time, especially if it’s Newt.

So when the GOP wants to tell you what to do with your body without our consent, it’s ok?  Project much?

If Palin had gotten in it, she wouldn’t be the “flavor of the week”. In fact, that phrase would have never come up. She would have immediately jumped to above what Perry jumped to when he entered the race. The difference is, she would have stayed there. And she would have won it all. Maybe not every single primary or caucus, but she would have had it sewn up pretty quickly. And the worst people like these leftist trolls on this post wailed and bitched and moan about it, the better she would have done.

One thing I can promise you is if that happy day ever does come that leftists such as yourself are doled out the fate traitors such as yourself deserve at the end of a rope, I will most definitely be standing on the sidelines cheering it on. Guess you haven’t seen any polls lately. Somewhere around 65% of the electorate now leans pro-life. You wanna make this your hill to die on? Make my day.

Aside from that, it’s pretty much A-OK with me if the GOP, or anyone, wants to “tell you” that you can’t murder your unborn child. The law already “tells me” that I can’t murder post born people, and I have no problem with that either.
