Obama has feigned shifting right. When a bona fide socialist begins talk of shifting right, you know he’s panicked. Obama no more believes in the private sector solutions to the economy, than he believes Rosie O’Donnell would skip a meal. Yet he is suddenly offering to cut business taxes. Welcome to Panderville. Many of Obama’s panic moves will showcase the complete hypocrisy of what he campaigned on or truly believes, and how far he is willing to go to remain in power. The potential for more lies and flip-flops has already created sleepless nights for Obama.

I wonder what kind of responses they’re getting.

It is still well within the power of the GOP to scuttle the ship within sight of land. They’ll do this by cleaving far too close to the middle of the channel, failing to note the entitlement sandbar and the debt ballast that’s wiped out our freeboard.

Or, perhaps, they know darn good and well, and are just to Progressively feckless to bring us about. Our Ruling Class looks so impotent in general that a Marco Rubio or Alan West really stands out. They’d rather all be ‘hanged’ together than show courage separately.

This suggests that #OccupyResoluteDesk’s defeat narrative will be one of martyrdom, decrying the stupidity of the American people for rejecting his proffered Utopia.

    Obama’s Budget is being promoted with the slogan, “Winning the Future,” or as Sarah Palin noted, “WTF” for short.  http://tinyurl.com/3h8dsph

    In Michigan, as in Florida, Obama’s and union PACs are running ads against Romney, and MoveOn.org and Daily Kos are attempting their own version of “Operation Chaos” in the open primary by urging supporters to vote for Santorum.

    But no matter how much you torture the naval metaphors, I doubt they will talk.

    I saw a poll somewhere that said Santorum leads Obama by five points in the battleground states, whereas Mitt only leads Obama by two points in those same states. And bear in mind, this was the average of all those states, which by the way includes Michigan. For Obama to be in trouble in Michigan, a state Democrats haven’t lost since 1988, is a sure sign his campaign is in dire straits.

    Well, President SCOAMF has to be a little nervous.  A tanking economy, skyrocketing gas prices, diplomatic cluelessness on parade, arrogance on demand.  Those sort of things don’t win friends and influence people, regardless of what the (apparently) rigged polls say.

    Think the read is wrong.

    Obama playing to the Right is more about him being confident he’ll win, but needs to keep the Senate and is giving them topcover.

    Politics is a team sport after all.

    If you watched Norquist’s CPAC speech, he gave a fine rundown of the next two Senate cycles.
    The idea of Progressivism is dead, and the corpse will leave a large ‘D’ for a chalk outline.

    The Dems have been bleeding one of their important voting blocs for some time now, and Obama has helped to turn the trickle into a gusher — this election is going to see the possible resurgence of the Reagan Democrat, and this time they just might stay put (and I would add that the racial, gender demographics of those RDs has changed a bit over time, so they could wind up being quite the boon for the GOP in some other demographic areas that would be nice to pick up).
    IF…the GOP doesn’t pee in their own cornflakes and scare them off (or po them).  From what I’ve seen…eh, not holding my breathe that the GOP won’t.

    Obama has serious problems.  Typically an incumbent in strong position for reelection is able to take his base for granted and reach out to the other side by moving strongly toward the center.  But Obama’s base is the radical left, and they are disillusioned that he hasn’t been radical enough (yeah, really) and that he has been ineffective.  Key constituencies are among the hardest hit by unemployment.

    So he is forced to play to the radicals by turning down Keystone and pushing the HHS abortion coverage rules.  All he is able to do to appear moving to the middle is to take credit for Bush’s oil lease approvals and propose a corporate tax rate “cut” that would actually raise taxes on them.

    His own policies and regulations are preventing the sort of recovery which typically might carry an incumbent to victory.  The campaign will be totally negative because if it is about his record, Obama cannot win.

     If you really believe that it just shows you haven’t been paying attention. What part of “three fifths of the American people believe the government has the right to tell insurance companies what kind of coverage they have to offer and at what price” have you failed to understand?
