‘He Has No F–king Soul’

FROM AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION
Today there is a massive Memeorandum aggregation about convicted terrorist Brett Kimberlin, including one on an article by my filmmaker buddy Ladd Ehlinger Jr.:

What Did Barbara Streisand Know …
And When Did She Know It?

An excellent question: Why would Barbra Streisand’s “philanthropic” foundation donate money to a 501(c)3 whose director is a violent felon notorious for his dishonesty (a “top-flight con man“) to say nothing of the other heinous crimes Kimberlin has committed? Leaving aside entirely the “lawfare” harassment strategy Kimberlin has used against Patrick Frey, Seth Allen and Aaron Worthing, doesn’t that situation — hiring an infamous liar and admitted tax cheat to run a tax-exempt non-profit — strike most people as incredibly reckless?

Kimberlin has continued dishonestly to deny his responsibility for the weeklong 1978 Indiana terror-bombing spree for which he was convicted in 1981 and sentenced to 50 years in federal prison. In fact, I’m told, Kimberlin has falsely claimed that he was “secretly exonerated” for those crimes, so that his life continues to be one enormous lie.

And what kind of person would donate money to pay the salary of a vicious creep like that, especially when it is so well-known that Kimberlin has spent the past year engaged in a series of efforts to intimidate those who try to expose the truth about him?

The fact that I was compelled, by concern for the safety of others, to leave my Maryland home in order to be able to continue reporting this story ought to be sufficient evidence of Kimberlin’s intrinsic maliciousness. But of all the many words written about this bizarre episode in recent days, none captured the essence of the problem so succinctly as a five-word sentence Scott Jacobs posted in the comments of another blog, describing Kimberlin: “He has no f–king soul.”

UPDATE: Lisa Graas writes:

I doubt Streisand knows how her money is being used, but then again, this is what you get when you fund groups that employ radicals.

Streisand is stuck in a nostalgic time-warp of “radical chic” and is thus perhaps actively in favor of giving money to left-wing terrorists.

UPDATE II: Michelle Malkin brought her awesome influence to bear today, as did Ed Morrissey at Hot Air, and the Memeorandum aggregation includes scores of bloggers.

Normally, I use the Shoe Leather Fund to pay travel expenses while I’m out on the campaign trail. This sudden and unexpected journey to an Undisclosed Location, however, has helped raise more money than any other road-trip I’ve ever taken, and I am extremely grateful to everyone who has contributed, as this will help pay to relocate my family.

They say if you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plans.

Last Thursday morning, I was planning to go cover the G8 Summit at Camp David. Instead, I saw Aaron Worthing’s story, immediately recognized it as newsworthy and . . . well, God’s got a great sense of humor, doesn’t he?

Update (Smitty): Thank you again, Instapundit!

First of all, I would doubt that Barbs personally knew of this donation or if she did, she found out after the fact.  There is likely someone running her charitable donations.  What I believe is more likely is that someone recommended a donation.  Looking at the list, Tides, Heinz, Streisand, it looks familiar.  I am wondering if maybe some group such as Fenton Communications had Kimberlin’s organization on their “worthy progressive causes” list.  That is one of the things Fenton does, they suggest to various “progressive” charities where they might do the most “good”.

I noticed this story from 2008:  http://warisacrime.org/node/37535 that mentions this:

“We at Velvet Revolution VR were running defense for democracy, tackling those who were coming at Obama from the shadowy sidelines: people, like Connell,
who were using secret computer IT networks to manipulate the vote count
    at the tabulation level.

In spite of hiring Fenton Communications to get out the election fraud
story (they put out some good press releases), the media never picked it
    up.”

So it looks like VR is or was a Fenton Communications client.  That might explain the donations.  Fenton does act as a sort of consultant to many “progressive” philanthropic organizations.

In other words, many “progressive” donors simply donate according to Fenton’s client list.  I would be willing to bet the donation was made on a basis similar to that and they probably had no real idea who was behind the organization until now.

[…] I’ll go further: it is likely that had the State’s Attorney simply performed his job, Kimberlin might not have found it convenient to begin the course of queries that cued Stacy McCain to bolt for the protection of his family. Someone contacted the Schwab group, and they sent basically a form letter in reply, claiming their donation was apolitical, that the group was doing music-oriented  charitable work as determined by IRS, and they would withdraw funding if the IRS changed the status, and other than that the inquirer could go pound sand, in effect.

Those with Schwab accounts should raise freakin’ hell.

We know IRS is as politicized and corrupt as the rest of this Regime – Tea Party applicants are asked for donor lists, while domestic terrorists submit obviously fudged returns and evade scrutiny, giving leftist donors the excuse to continue funding scum and their intimidation tactics.

It is also important to remember that while Kimberlin is appropriately the ugly face of this, Rauhauser and Brad Friedman aren’t some innocent bystanders.  They are doing a good bit of the dirty work, as are others with less formal relationships (for all we know, they are being aided by one of the pedophile groups).

Not at all hasty. I’m convinced that many more of the left’s activist organization’s masquerade as charities than conservative organizations. Further more we know that we are better human beings than they are in general and more giving to “worthy” organizations in particular. Either we are correct or we are not. Let the competition for altruistic funding begin.
