Vengeance

Deuteronomy 32:28-35

28 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.
29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?
31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:
33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.
34 ¶ Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures?
35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

“Voting is the best revenge.”–Barack Obama

I quote the President in the broader Biblical context because BHO has claimed Christianity. It’s one thing to screw up and be vengeful; that is sin. It’s another to be caught up in a moment, and blurt something, as I’m sure apologists will contend.

It’s quite another to actively encourage others to sin, for a Christian. I should hope that the good President would repent of his remark, and do so publicly.

Not holding my breath. Also, hoping nobody asks me for my opinion of the state of BHO’s Christianity, as I’m not a qualified judge. Also escaping certainty; that the fuller context offered from Deuteronomy here relates at all to Obama’s supporters. I’m just pointing out some dots; you’re free to connect as desired.

You never want to “hold your breath” with O. I don’t expect anything to get better with O, just worse. But despite that, we have to continue the fight tomorrow, as Malkin said.

You understand, of course, that “their foot shall slide in due time” is the scripture that keys “Sinners in the H ands of an Angry God.”

I think the most appropriate biblical reference to yesterday was the one I used in this post:

Indeed. And it’s off to church now to pray about that.

WE can judge if Zer0 is a christian simply based on the way he lives his life. He is not a christian, and neither is his pastor of 20 years. Such people are wolves in sheep’s clothing and they are liars because their father is the father of lies. It is why they are immoral and see nothing wrong being such. *NO* regenerate person could live as they do.

Yes. And the beginning of the text reads:

Their foot shall slide in due time- Deut. 32:35

In this verse is threatened the vengeance of God on the wicked unbelieving Israelites, who were God’s visible people, and who lived under the means of grace; but who, notwithstanding all God’s wonderful works towards them, remained (as ver. 28.) void of counsel, having no understanding in them. Under all the cultivations of heaven, they brought forth bitter and poisonous fruit; as in the two verses next preceding the text. The expression I have chosen for my text, Their foot shall slide in due time, seems to imply the following doings, relating to the punishment and destruction to which these wicked Israelites were exposed.

    1. That they were always exposed to destruction; as one that stands or walks in slippery places is always exposed to fall. This is implied in the manner of their destruction coming upon them, being represented by their foot sliding. The same is expressed, Psalm 73:18. “Surely thou didst set them in slippery places; thou castedst them down into destruction.”

He has stated he’s Christian. Thus, he at least has Christian lips. My point is that, while I look at BHO’s record and see a pack of lies, only God judges his soul.

Also, hoping nobody asks me for my opinion of the state of BHO’s Christianity, as I’m not a qualified judge.

Based on your commentary, it appears you aren’t a qualified judge for much of anything, including election predictions and political analysis. But it is rather amusing to see you whimpering about Obama’s victory after trash-talking about the election for some time. With nothing to back it up, it turns out.

    …only God judges his soul.

Quite true, but we are tasked with passing judgement on his intentions and actions because we are tasked with protecting Life.

James chapter 2 speaks to this situation quite eloquently. Just talking the talk does not make a Christian. If he had faith, then his actions would testify of it. His actions are those of a heathen, so his faith is the same as what James called the faith of demons. In the end, we will judge ourselves when we stand before Christ and those who have rejected Christ as Lord will be sent packing to the same destination that was prepared for the devil and his angels.
Zer0 has clearly rejected Christ as Lord because he does not obey the Gospel. he can’t be your savior unless he is your Lord.
