Patterico nominates Sen. Dianne Feinstein for an NRA Lifetime Achievement Award:

Perhaps no single American in the country’s history has done more to put high-powered rifles and high capacity magazines in the hands of United States citizens.

    This weekend I went to several stores in the OKC area trying to find a rifle (always wanted one, now I have the excuse I needed to actually buy one). 4 different stores, NO GUNS!

    Went online to several different websites: Each was backordered. Though, I did find a guy wanting to sell one in Tulsa. A nice short drive for a beautiful weapon!

    Considering that many politicians enter office as thousandaires and leave as millionaires and that they are allowed to profit directly from legislation that is passed while in office, I would not consider this story ironic, just a good business model.

    I recently heard Piers Morgan pontificate that no one needs an AR-15 for self protection. Two under-reported stories disprove his self-righteousness.

    A 15 year old man in Texas used his father’s AR-15 and shoot two home invaders when he was alone with his 12 year old sister in the middle of the day.

    A Georgia mother fled with her two kids upstairs, behind a locked bedroom door, behind a locked bathroom door and into a crawlspace before emptying a 38 into a home invader who was still able to drive away after she ran out of bullets. What would have happened to her if there had been two invaders?

    Question for Sen Feinstein. Why do you allow the citizens of Israel to carry person weapons when we are told to give up our rights? Implement gun control in the State of Israel before you screw us over! Ya old bag!
