Pennsylvania School Officials Resign After Bizarre Racist Text-Message Scandal

Superintendent Richard Como has retired and Director of Athletics and Activities Jim Donato has resigned after the school officials in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, were caught exchanging grossly obscene and racist text-messages on their school-provided cell phones.

Transcripts of the exchanges between Como and Donato obtained by the local newspaper are shocking beyond description.

Honestly, you don’t want me to transcribe those messages. And keep in mind, these are public school officials — government-licensed, taxpayer-employed educational specialists.

Why aren’t you home-schooling yet?

    I glad you reported this. I wasn’t sure if you had seen it. When I saw the messages, I couldn’t believe it. I just couldn’t believe it. I mean these guys are actual bone fide racists.

    Further evidence that men shouldn’t ‘text’. Ever. WFB Jr. would sound like an idiot schoolgirl (“omg, like stop immanentizing the eschaton, serious u guys!”) The medium actively promotes stupidity.

    These two ‘geniuses’ were doomed. If they’d just been talking on the damned thing – the way the good lord intended – there’s a chance one of them might have said “Wait, dude, that’s idiotic. What are you, a ten-year-old?” Or perhaps a wife or other loved one might have overheard half the conversation and offered a similar critique.

    Either way, if they had been talking, we almost certainly wouldn’t have this lovely, life-destroying transcript. Idiots.

    Obviously, the content of the messages is abhorrent, but what’s truly astounding is that these people who are charged with educating the next generations are so stupid to believe that texts sent from an employer’s cell phone cannot be discovered.

    This isn’t the first time the Coatsville Area school district has been under fire and see various members of its admin or its teachers left under questionable circumstances just days into the start of a new school year. Other times it was for helping felony fugitives (who were school aged) in a callous robbery-murder case, another year was some minor accounting issues with regards to some funds; basically the list is long and distinguished. Also, Coatsville is sell, like most of the cities within an hour drive or 30 minute ride from Philly, lean heavily towards the Democratic political bent.

    Also notable: Alaska, in the months before Sarah Palin announced she would be resigning, rejected Common Core as well. Palin famously declined much of the money shoveled at the states by the Obamastration because it came with strings attached, among them the expectation that the states’ governments would bend their education standards to the DOE’s preference.
