It’s Official: Detroit Is Bankrupt

Posted on | December 3, 2013 | 35 Comments

Decades of control by labor unions and Democrats:

The struggling metropolis of Detroit, overwhelmed by debt and groping for a path forward, on Tuesday became the largest American city ever to qualify for bankruptcy protection.

That’s from the New York Times which has also been controlled for decades by labor unions and Democrats, so they can sympathize.

Bankrupt morally and in the lack of money to pay its obligations…

The only bright spot: Public pensions will likely be cut! This is a vision of how the country will go in a few years, probably starting with the State of California.

The Fish Wrap of Choice™ (a/k/a the NYT) couid sympathize, but probably don’t. Instead, I expect that the inner sanctum of The Grey Lady is filled with the lamentations of their women and beta males..

I didn’t know Henry Waxman posted selfies.

    Bloody brilliant.

Turn the city into a museum.

Put a fence around it and require all school kids to see the EPIC FAIL that is Leftism.

It was official long before it was official.

It’s more to do with blacks than leftism. It Detroit was white, it could survive even the leftists. Not prosper, but at least survive.

Really? Who could this commentator be?

New York State’s public pension system is the country’s most actuarially sound and its deficit spending is no worse than average. Illinois and California and the champion pigs.

  • Evi L. Bloggerlady

That made me snort. Well done.

Race is an element, but that overwhelming element that “Guest” thinks it is. It’s true that Boston and San Francisco aren’t about to go down, but there are other factors involved that keeps them afloat. That is not true of places like Chicago.

Amusing that anyone would think the New York Times is liberal or they they are controlled by Democrrats and Unions.
What is actually happening with public pensions is that the money employees contributed was siphoned off and not match for a long time.
So now we have the know nothings and jealous whining about pensions. Whats it like to be on your knees? I wouldn’t know..

Sucks for the trash of society, knowing that Scott Walker made Wisconsin financially sound, I’d imagine.
