So, Tucker Carlson’s brother accidentally hit “reply all” on an e-mail in which he said rude things about Amy Spitalnick, a spokeswoman for New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.This became THE MOST IMPORTANT STORY IN THE WORLD for Erik Wemple of the Washington Post, who seems determined to spend the rest of his career writing about this.

BREAKING: MISOGYNISTIC E-MAIL UPDATE!

Dear God, man, give it a rest.

If your point was to prove that Tucker Carlson’s brother is a sexist pig, congratulations — you’re a winner. But where is it written that all organizations must employ only sensitive people who adhere to your Erik Wemple Code of Polite E-Mail Decorum?

    I have sometimes distinguished between “sexist” (i.e., a person who believes that male and female are different in ways that are socially significant) and “misogynist,” a woman-hater. Feminists have deliberately blurred the distinction between these two words. The vast majority of people are to some degree “sexist,” in that they do not embrace the radical feminist theory that sexual differences are artificial (“socially constructed”). If you believe that men and women are naturally different, you are a “sexist,” whether you are male or female.

    Feminists want us to believe that all sexists are misogynists — woman-haters — so that everyone who disagrees with feminist theory can be classified as guilty of hate and prejudice.

If Amy Spitalnick speaks for Mayor DeBlasio, for payment, then she is by default a vile statist monster seeking to destroy private property and punish personal initiative and should be grateful that free citizens tolerate her presence among them, for we all know that were she in power she would not tolerate ours.     Marginally related: I never use email for business if I can help it because it’s too easy to allow your id to send stuff you’d trash if given an opportunity to think about it. My secretary and I have a deal. If she thinks one of my letters is too strident, she does it in draft and appends a note: “Do you really want to send this?” That’s kept my fat out of the fire on occasions too numerous to count.

    OK, I read the link. And I’m wondering why Wemple’s got his panties in a knot, writing multiple stories over a dumb email written by a guy that nobody’s heard of, but responds with, let’s say, substantially less furvor regarding the email sins of Rodham-Clinton and Lerner. For example. Given, you know, that what the latter two did was actually illegal for someone in their position of authority, versus the former, who only commited a breach of etiquette.

    Wemple is so brain-washed by the cult of liberalism that he is unable to ascertain the scope of various events. He’s thus not even fit to write for a middle school newspaper.
