Autumn is a 24-year-old cisgender queer Muslim, who posted this:

“Hands up if large groups of aggressively loud
white boys in your vicinity freak you out.”

To which spyderqueen (“mental health stuff, feminist rantings”) added:

“One of the things that bonds women, POC, and LGBTQA+ together: The fear of white men in numbers.”

That comment got more than 300,000 likes and reblogs in nine months. This is what feminism is really about: The promotion of completely irrational (but politically useful) fear.

My advice to “white boys” is: Always travel in large groups and be aggressively loud, because it makes feminists freak out.

    And “strangely”, having radical feminists in my vicinity freaks me out more than pretty much anything, other than maybe escaped mental patients carrying sharp objects.

    Look at the DoJ numbers on violent crime for 2012. The number for White men who raped Black women is so low it is unmeasurable.

    Let me take a stab at it…

    Really needs work. Rereading it, it just comes across as somebody trying too hard. These people make it appear effortless, they spout a stream of consciousness flow of logorrhea.

    I am not certain what is required to think that way, aside from an extraordinarily fluid set of principles that shift momentarily depending upon what whim is ascendant, or who is in my cross hairs at the moment.

    Trying to recreate that thinking for me is like putting on a life vest and trying to swim to the bottom of the pool. I thrash and flail and them pop back up to the surface, never having managed more than a momentary immersion.

    I suspect that were I to reach that kind of enlightenment the results would be along the lines of…

    “AAAAARGH! SNAKES! SNAKES! GET THEM OFF MEEEEEE!!!!!”

    When you say “we stopped beating up lesbians,” you mean yourself and whom else?

    Are you saying you had an accomplice on each and every occasion you targeted lesbians for violence; or did you and your confederates take turns? How many of you participated in total? Were all of you registered democrats or were there some mixed greens?

    Regardless, congratulations for embracjng civility and the rule of law and tolerence and all that junk and not beating up lesbians anymore. I have never beaten up a lesbian; and I suspect the same is true of most of the commenters here at TOM. I don’t know what you ever saw in beating up lesbians, why you did it, what you got out of it, whatever.

    BUT, I can’t condone your past behavior; and by engaging with an admitted misogynist like yourself (I suppose you used to beat up lesbians because you adore them?) I run the risk of signalling to others that I condone your crimes, which I don’t.
