Don’t Pay the Ransom, I Escaped

Posted on | February 6, 2010 | 18 Comments

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Please excuse my unusually long silence since yesterday’s post about the state attorney general. From Birmingham, we left en route to Montgomery for the winter meeting of the Alabama Republican Party, arriving about 6:30 p.m. Central time.

Six hours of heavy-duty reporting/schmoozing ensued, and then we departed for an unknown location near Dadeville. This morning, we went back to the AL-GOP meeting. Two quick points:

  1. I left my cell phone in Dadeville — where I’ll be crashing on the sofa tonight — so I hope Mrs. Other McCain understands why I haven’t called this morning.
  2. I haven’t had breakfast, and neither has Ali Akbar, who just told me I have 120 seconds to be ready to go to IHOP.

Update: (Smitty) I relayed the cel phone note above to Mrs. TOM. She responded with an outburst of Emmanuelism concerning her husband, IYKMIMAITYD. My suggestion is that the Shoe Leather Fund be fully supported, so he can return home for further adventures in Competition Groveling, as the poor wife has to dig out of the Al Gore Memorial Blizzard.

Since we're not in Alabama, today's barbecue is serving cold marshmellow.

The photo is of the picnic table out back, with the Goreflakes currently above the bottom of the green umbrella, and still climbing like the national debt. It is completely unfair to pick on Stacy for being out of town for this event. Also, life is unfair, so, let the abuse be heaped, say I.

    You got more important things to worry about, McCain….like the retribution you face when you get home after abandoning the lovely Mrs. Other McCain to deal with a blizzard on her own. Methinks you may returning to a Killing FIelds situation.

    Solution? Send ME money, and I’ll buy Stacy a drink at CPAC. HIT THE TIP JAR AT MY SITE, and I’ll make sure Stacy can drown his sorrows!

    You might be more realistic and call it the Fund To Pay For Stacy’s Burial.

    @BB,
    To judge by the tone, burial would be too quick for the man.

    […] McCain had been missing since February 12, 2010, several hours after he had returned from a trip to Alabama to cover primary elections in that state.  The Missing Persons Report was filed by his wife forty-eight hours after she claimed ‘he said he was going out to get a corndog and would be right back, but the SOB never did’. You lost ANOTHER cell phone? See, this is why the Right can’t have a Townhouse or JornoList message control operation. All the lefties have to do is follow RSM around, wait til he drops his cell, and get into our networks…
