"One should either write ruthlessly what one believes to be the truth, or else shut up." — Arthur Koestler

Dear Lord . . .

Posted on | March 2, 2012 | 26 Comments

. . . please hear my sincere prayer: However badly I screw up, whoever I may offend, whatever public act of idiocy I may ever commit, please — O, merciful God! — never let me be guilty of such foolishness as to deserve the kind of mockery Ace of Spades laid down on David Frum.

Amen.

Frum is a provocateur.  To our great embarrassment, this is an industry that well rewards its minions. I would say this to Mr. Frum, “You are an unfortunate by-product of our
socio-political system. You are the exact opposite of egalitarianism and justice. If this were 1863 you would be a slave owner north of the Mason-Dixon and beat your chattel when they displeased you while printing invectives of those citizens who resided below it and did not own such. It is to our collective misfortune that citizens of your ilk are elevated to a position where you are able to inflict your inexorable vituperation on us all, even those who promote you. That those promoters are too obtuse to recognize the detriment you are to the collective is no excuse for their behavior. Your moral compass is defective and you relish in your pathetic bent. You are one of those who when your family is in a fight would only throw stones from the rear ranks not caring who gets hit.”

As floggings go, Ace’s takedown was exceptionally brutal. One recall’s George C. Scott’s Patton, (from memory): “I almost feel sorry for the bastards, I really do.”

Frum really is an asshole.  Conservative sites should embargo ever linking to him.  Granted the only links he gets these days is when he says something exceptionally stupid.  wasn’t Frum the moron that used the infamous phrase “here within a brief primer” in that op ed you spent 3 days tearing apart a few years back?  I wonder what Frum’s obituary would say? He was a speech writer for the most inarticulate man to ever be president.  He coined 2/3rds of the term “axis of evil.”  He loved butter… physically.  He was known to wear a bib to David Brooks’ dinner parties.

We should all try to emulate the example of Andrew Breitbart. Frum is good for one thing only, though he’d be a waste of good hot tar and chicken feathers

Frum is a mouse turd thinks its a whale turd. There’s an AOS  school for that, thankfully.

Sorry Stacy, but Ace’s takedown was a disorganized, pretty ineffective, mess.  You could do vastly better in your dreams, and almost certainly do . . .

I am feeling low today, but I find watching this helps (a bit)

As for the plan by some Kossacks to get the Westboro Baptist Church to protest Breitbart’s funeral, I am pretty sure Andrew would say:  Bring it on!  If only that they revealed again how vile they really are.  I think he would treat such a protest as a badge of honor.

I wish this was all an elaborate hoax and Andrew Breitbart will surprise us in October with a bunch of great stuff.   Sadly that is not the case.

Actually, I take that back.  I will not speak badly of David Frum.  Frum is dead to me.

plus it walked up to the line of demogoguery, thus proving part of Frum’s point…

What an awful little group of people — but if they did, then it certainly does make a statement…and would be well worth flogging them with (both groups even, a twofer!).

The thing is that Frum should have been long disappeared from public view.  He is neither insightful nor witty; there is nothing about him which would ever have justified his success after the White House.

He had led the charge against Harriet Miers, but not for ideology.  When they were both in the White House, she showed him no respect – she was Counsel to the President and he was Third Assistant Jock-Washer to the Speechwriter.  He held the grudge – I AM somebody!  I’ll show you! – and paid her back.

Defending Sherrod is over the top.  She and her husband have made millions at the expense of the poor black farmers who were screwed by the Pigford “industry” of sucking federal money for people who never even stepped onto a farm.

Frum is scum.  Why he is still paid enough attention to be worthy of mockery is a mystery.

Don’t worry, Stacy, even if you got a frontal lobotomy you’d still be a better writer than Frum.

Whew!  Ace elevates kicking ass to an art form!

And, Mr. Frum was, of course, GW’s trusty speech-writer.  A fact which may shed some light on the predicaments in which we now find ourselves.

Fear not, Stacy, your transgressions are merely a result of relentless quest for the truth.
Not only did Ace demolish Frum with total panache and great expertise, AND sliced and diced Frum better than anything seen on late night TV, but also, he damned that other McCain woman by calling her a poster child for Santorum’s contention that college is wasted on some people.
Way to go, Ace, and keep up the good work, Stacy!

David Frum is simply following the well-worn path Charles Johnson, Andrew Sullivan, and David Brock trod before him.

So, um…  Good luck with that.    Buh-bye now.
