Valley of the Shadow continues the fight for blogospheric excellence, emphasis mine:

Next week I will be at the 30th Congressional District Republican debate. I know the candidates, and I will blog about it afterword. If there are 5 (yes FIVE!) candidates who think Rep. Waxman is vulnerable, then look in your city and town, other Democrats are vulnerable too.

I don’t understand what Rep. Waxman did to rate five people who want to see his political career move into the historic category. My local piece of work, Rep. Moran, only has two contenders going into the June primary.
Sure, there are cheap shots about physical appearance. We ignore those, as they are more likely to engender sympathy for Rep. Waxman. Then there is the fact that he assumed office in the. . .what?!? Carter Administration? And he’s “chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, the principal investigative committee of the House.” Does that mean he and the Wicked Witch of the West are two of the most responsible people for the historically low approval rating of Congress?

I fail to see what could be the source of the anti-Waxman sentiment. Discuss.
