Shoot Not The Messenger: Rather, Laugh

Krauthammer from Fox All Stars:

On President Obama’s proposed job-creation initiatives:
An index of how spent he is intellectually on the issue of jobs is the campaign speech he gave today – the fourth in ten days in which he pivoted and he announced five initiatives. Listen to them:
– Payroll tax extension — we already had that.
– Unemployment insurance extension — already had that.
– Trade deals — he’s had it for two and a half years and done nothing.
– Spending, more infrastructure, a perennial, you know — more dams, more bridges and roads.
– And the last one, I love that — here’s the real new one that will get us out of our doldrums: patent process reform!

He’s out of bullets. He’s out of arrows. He’s looking for stones on the seashore. … There’s nothing left in the cupboard. He did a huge Keynesian gamble, and it failed.

The ultimate Alinsky trick will be if BHO becomes a blame sponge for the failure of the Acme Wheel-less Bicycle to sell any product. No salesman could move such an absurd product. No amount of Keynesian stimulus could roll it out the door. No triumph of the will could propel its forked-up front end forward. Resist the temptation to personalize.
Instead, laugh at the absurdity of it all. The world has been sold a bill of goods by sweet fools since Rosseau, since Marx. It’s been seductive, and it hasn’t worked. The State is not God. Get over it.
Even now the Progressives and the Ruling Class still aren’t willing to face the music that the era of failing upward to the federal government, and then, ultimately, to a world-wide government, has failed the other direction. Down. Because of debt.
We have another eighteen months of steady pressure to apply, while witnessing the most farcical demise in the history of political theater. I still think that, if not losing in 2012 is the most important psychological self-preservation point for BHO, that some means will be found to muster one of those big shepherd’s hooks to help get the bobble head offstage.
So, offer laughter. The Socialist politics of failure have failed. Offer pity. They are what a fool and a Michael McDonald fan believes. Offer silence. We have to recover liberty.

Laugh?  Obama has fundamentally transformed America, just like he said he would.  He did this in only 2.5 years.  He cranked up the baseline spending, pushed America to insolvency, crippled the private sector and alienated allies while empowering enemies.  He drained the military’s resources then cut the Pentagon’s budget.  He enacted Obamacare which will simultaneously increase the number of citizens dependent on the State, co-opt the health care and insurance industries, and drive up the deficit and debt (genius!).   Oh, and he has trampled the Constitution and Rule of Law; we are now a country under a Law of Rules.

Call Obama what you want, but he don’t call him a failure.  He has turned America into Europe.   Grumble like the South Park Harley Riders if you want, but laugh?

@JohnHiggins1990 is right, Smitty. What’s really scary about the situation is no matter how bad Obama does, there’s no way in hell he will get less than 40 percent of the vote and if he did it will only be due to a depressed vote from the left. But even the ones who might be so disheartened as to stay at home wouldn’t ever dream of voting against him, damn sure not for a Republican. What’s worse, demographics is not on our side in the long run, going by the present trajectory. And the labor unions and other special interest groups that support the democrats aren’t going away quietly. California should be the poster child of why not to vote Democrat. But while I say that, I know full well Obama will probably win California handily.

    Great post, kudos!

Obama has done serious damage to the country, without doubt, but doesn’t even deserve full credit for the awakening of fiscal sanity, since he was building on the shoulders of many short-sighted Presidents and Congresses before him.  He did give the final push, though, which apparently may finally tip the scale in the other direction.

But neither Obama alone or combined with every free-spending fool before him is strong enough to bring America down once she wakes up to her peril.  And even as he has swiftly pushed us too far into the Red, so we may be energized, like a pendulum, to sweep back hard and undo the damage done to our foundations.

When the foe asks for your surrender, say: “Nuts.”

Well, we can thank him for something:  the Tea Party.  They have to be making a difference because the left are scared to death of them.

I’d add a few choice words to that. It might end with “nuts” though.
