Rush Nails It On The Craven GOP

Rush Limbaugh went ballistic about both the Obama 06Dec speech, and the corresponding spinelessness of the GOP in refusing to attack #OccupyResoluteDesk. Of local note is the Timmy Kaine run for Senate.

Face it: rather than gearing up for the next concession speech in 2012, the GOP needs to take this class warfare speech of Baracks and parse it, break it down, and fire it right back at Barack, word for word.

Don’t back down, double down. The country is at stake. Let’s find out who the little children are at GOP HQ and gently toss them in the broom closet until after the election next November. ‘Not going after Barack’ was John McCain’s path to victoryconcession speech in 2008; fear of a reprise in 2012 is exactly why no one wants Mitt on the ticket. Let’s put on our big boy pants now, GOP, and git ‘er done. But even if Mitt simulates gumption, is there any way he can convince conservatives that he isn’t a method actor in a bureaucracy play?

Fischersville Mike with the pithy observation:

Blue Virginia seems awfully excited by Barack Obama giving a speech where Teddy Roosevelt talked in 1910.
Roosevelt was the former president in 1910.
Obama will be a former president in 14 months.

Now you’re getting me in my “If the GOP doesn’t nominate the right candidate I’m staying home” mode of thinking. And believe me, as badly as I want Obama gone, that is one hell of a conflict, so I’m going to work out a compromise, one I suggest everybody adopt. I call it my “I’ll vote for any person the GOP nominates, but only as long as they run the right kind of campaign” mode. I think if we tirelessly work to get that message out, Mitt will have no choice but to sit up and take notice. Notice I said “sit up” not “stand up” because I think we shouldn’t expect too much.

The first person we should send that message is Rance Priebus.

Rush was just getting into a mega-rant on this subject yesterday, as the news broke when he was on his show.  His program should be especially fiery today.

Talk about getting panties in a wad.  The report I saw said they suggested attacking policies instead of personally, because Obama still has a high personal approval even among those who say he doesn’t deserve reelection.  I presume the idea is to avoid a sympathetic backlash.

The reaction is as if someone at the RNC ran over our dog.  “WHAT?  We can’t vilify Obama personally?”

I don’t agree with a hands-off policy, but showing our personal disgust with the jerk isn’t going to convince anyone who is on the fence.  Let’s face it:  the swing voters aren’t exactly a bunch of budding Einsteins running around out there.  They move with the wind for stupid reasons like “Hope and Change.”  They are just dumb enough to vote for Obama if we attack him on the basis that “mean people suck.”

How about just being honest about the son-of-a-bitch instead of giving him a pass on things like his past associations, like say with Bill Ayers, like asshole McCain did?

Why is the GOP primary so rough? Because we’ll have to vote for whoever wins, and it’d be nice not to have to swallow too much bile for the general election.

That being said, I’ll swallow as much as I have to to rid ourselves of SCoaMF. I’ll probably smile while I’m at it, too. It’s that important. The GOP is irrelevant this round. SCoaMF isn’t.

It’s not the way most of us want it but we’ll have to work with what we’ve got. The GOP remains the Stupid Party. This isn’t news. We’ll manage. We have to.

Interestingly, down in the Live At Five section is a link to where Rush Limbaugh is criticizing conservative media for attacking Newt Gingrich.

Get rid of Boehner & McConnel and I don’t care if The Won wins…he’ll be jailed within weeks with a GOP that is actually
    an opposition party.
BUT no mopre Doles, McNastys, ORomneys or rinos. Not gonna do it anymore

Why should we gently toss them in the closet. I say wrap them in duct tape and toss them to teh curb. The RNC has historically been a useless organization.

There’s actually a new Chairman and he had a press conference yesterday:
