Geisterfahrer

Literally, ‘ghost driver‘, this is a German word for ‘motorist driving against the traffic on motorways’.

Preston at The Tatler makes a crucial point about maturity in our society, and how #OccupyResoluteDesk is not only failing, but actively retarding the overall maturation of society’s members:

A president that embraces the tantrums of the Occupy Movement proves that he reasons as a child. A president that uses the power of his office to steal on behalf of others proves that he was never taught the most basic lessons of how a civil society functions. If every member of society behaved this way our country would appear more like the post-apocalyptic world of the Mad Max movies.

President Obama is the Geisterfahrer, trashing the normal, correct flow of traffic, and taking all vehicular movement with him. If it was only he himself, I could be dispassionate. But he is the culmination of the immoral moocher drift of our society. And he’d take us all with him, given the opportunity.

Obama. Must. Go. Give me Zeeba, if no one else!

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

The scary part is how many are solidly behind the self-destructive course he has set the country upon, and also how many are blithely ignorant of the dangers.

And the second scary thing is that every time a real conservative tries to do something about it, the “conservatives” in the GOP knock him or her back in favor of someone that is “conservative”-just not too conservative. After all, we need somebody who is “electable”, i.e. “somebody that will end other people’s goodies, but not mine”.

TPT, it’s the ruling party that knocks back the conservatives. Romney is of the ruling class, that’s why they are behind him as they are.

I gather ‘Gesiterfahrer’ is the opposite of Fahrvergnügen?

They’re not even bothering much with the “not too conservative” anymore.  RNC chairman endorses Democrat …

As the author of the that piece I can’t urge you enough to go to the source and read the whole thing and then play the video at the end.  Is anyone familiar with Robyn Hitchcock’s song, “Uncorrected Personality Traits”?

Only for those who like to play it safe and have a high survivability quotient.

I consider Obama to be more of a malevolent zeitgeist, a manifestation of the accumulated evils of nihilism in all its many forms that are haunting us in this modern age — a sort of poltergeist of the uberman fantasies…or Satan’s little doppleganger even.

Anyone trying to combat him on the other hand…that’s the real gesiterfahrer.
