Ticonderoga Classy

I was a young lad of 1819* on USS MyFirst:

Yes, USS Ticonderoga was CG-47

Not even the World's Finest Navy can overcome inferior leadership.

That was back in the days of Bush41. The Cold War. When the last two words of the phrase “I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic” were somehow less immediate. Good times, good times. And, with the efforts of all liberty-minded Americans in uniform or out, the sun of those times may rise again.

Apologies in advance for light blogging this week; I’m doing the single parent shuffle. Props to all those investing time in raising children!

The mighty Ramirez:

*Ludicrously old friend JW catches me cooking the books. I reported to my first ship at a ripe 19, turned 20 on USS Lake Champlain, 21 in Newport RI at Navy Prep, and 22 a few months into Plebe Year at Sing Sing on the Severn.

You reach that age where your own life seems someone else’s biography, no?

I’m getting out while the getting is good.  I’m afraid for the coming investigation on leaks clamps down HARD after this stunt.  That self centered Wikileaks idiot sent us for the Stupid, so I’m wondering what’s next with the White House leaking like a sieve.

Since this cartoon is guaranteed to be labelled “racist” by every Democratic and media outlet by noon tomorrow, I would like to take this opportunity to denounce myself for laughing.

I have no excuse, other than it being funny, accurate, and topical, and that Obama is a stuttering clusterfluke of a miserable failure.

I miss those days. I was 19 for my USS Firstship. DDG 12. BTW, I did the math (I remember when you joined) – you had to be in the last month of your 18th year (that’s if you finished BEE in less than 2 months) when you reported aboard – or you were actually 19?
