The Dishonest Liar From Phonyville

Was there ever a time that honest people did not despise John Kerry? He first came to public attention more than 40 years ago, lying about his service in Vietnam, and he has been lying about everything — every single thing — ever since. So this headline kinda set me off:

Experts: John Kerry’s credibility
could sink with boat flap

John Kerry got away with his lying for years simply because he was a member of Congress from Massachusetts, a state that hasn’t elected an honest politician in half a century or more. Most states send their criminals to prison. Massachusetts sends theirs to the Senate.

Years of experience in dishonesty are, of course, quite valuable in the office of Secretary of State, where Kerry’s predecessor wasn’t exactly an exemplar of integrity, and so the question is: Is it possible that a liar as skilled as John Kerry is overqualified for this gig?

Can we presume that Kerry OKed the lie about not being on his YACHT?
And stop calling it a “Boat” or a “ship”.
    He’s a rich m-fer and it’s called a YACHT !!!

Yes I know that he has nothing and it all belongs to his wife.

He’s also inept, incompetent and a snob. Then, now and in the future. He has no perception of how his actions may appear to others because he doesn’t care and they don’t matter.

When he was an Ensign, his persona was one of Thurston Howell III without the charm and wardrobe. His abilities as an Officer on board a Naval Vessel never surpassed the basic custodial supervision of a work gang and he was going to be trash canned for the remainder of his service by a tour of duty at some unremarkable, unstrategic and distant post. Which is why he volunteered for the Riverine forces. (Yes, this stalwart anti war protester volunteered, both for initial enlistment and for a combat post)

He knew he would need some sort of command experience in his record so he could claim military wisdom and hopefully combat experience and the medals that are routinely awarded to Officers.

Then the political climate was changing and he apparently was advised that all his efforts were for naught which led him to his VVAW participation and his “Winter Soldier” testimony (in front of sympathetic Democrats.) which were fabrications based on a few facts.

Although as an enlisted man in another department and thus with few interactions with him, he always seemed to me to be a snot nosed rich kid punk who was there to get his ticket punched and get out and that most everyone he was involved with were beneath him.

Emo Philips has a joke about a Massachusetts Judge asking him whether he knew the penalty for reckless driving.
