Bill Schmalfeldt Hates Zoa Barnes

Attorney Zoa Barnes is representing John Hoge in his peace order case against deranged cyberstalker Bill Schmalfeldt and, predictably, Schmalfeldt’s reaction to this is to demonize Zoa Barnes for merely doing what attorneys do, i.e., represent clients.

If you ever visit Bill Schmalfeldt’s site — which I certainly do not recommend — you will find that it features a very prominent copyright notice. Simple question: Did Bill Schmalfeldt bother to ask Zoa Barnes for permission to use her photo on his site?

If not, under what grounds does he claim the right to use that photo? And if he can explain why it is OK for him to use a photo of Zoa Barnes, why has Bill Schmalfeldt repeatedly claimed that it is a violation of his copyright for other people to use photos of him?

Not sure how Bill Schmalfeldt will explain the apparent contradiction between his own actions and the accusations he has made against others. Maybe his answer would be, “Because I said so.”

    In Maryland “ignorance of the law is no excuse” but it is apparently a pretty solid qualification for both a judgeship and persuading said judges to rules against both the facts admitted into testimony and the written law. Don’t underestimate the risks Stacy and the other defendants are running.

    Wonder if Stacy and the others are considering filing suit against the county (ies) where BK, BS et al are pursing these half-assed SLAPPs against them (Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation).
