Feminist College Girls Gone … Well, OK, Not ‘Wild,’ Exactly. But My Point Is …

Future Cat Ladies of America, unite!

Looking at photos from the “Young Feminist Leadership Conference,” one cannot help feeling a sense of pity: Here they are, young women just starting out in life — some of them moderately attractive, even — committing themselves to a philosophy that guarantees their futures will be consumed by angry baby-killing bitterness.

Hey, I said “moderately attractive.” Your mileage may vary. Some guys like the Chubby Nerd Girl look. De gustibus non est disputandum.

So, what did the Young Feminists do last weekend during their National Conference? They heard from Old Feminists like the hate-filled fanatic Eleanor Smeal and the radical atheist man-hater Kim Gandy. There were panel discussions on “Why Prison Reform Matters to the Feminist Movement,” “Defending Your Local Women’s Health Center” and (naturally) “Rape is Rape: The Fight Against Campus Sexual Assault.”

(Remember: “No woman is heterosexual” and “PIV is always rape, OK?”)

My favorite item on the NYFLC agenda, however, was “Ecofeminism: Gendered Impact of Climate Change.” Why? Because that panel discussion was moderated by “Sara Alcid, Programs and Policy Associate, Reproductive Health Technologies Project.”

We all remember self-described “queer feminist” Sara Alcid, right?

“Heteronormativity and gender roles also rear their ugly heads on Valentine’s Day. Gifts for ‘him’ or ‘her’ are clearly divided and marked and it’s almost impossible to find cards that represent queer couples. . . .
“It’s not hard to see why Valentine’s Day is problematic for many feminists. Celebrated traditionally, Valentine’s Day magnifies many of the very systems of domination that we work to critique and dismantle.”

Sara Alcid, “Valentine’s Day: What’s A Feminist To Do?” EverydayFeminism.com, Feb. 14, 2013

Well, the patriarchy got thoroughly smashed at the conference, I guess, but there were murmurs about lingering heteronormativity.

Beyond the complaints about insufficient “queer” representation, the National Young Feminist Leadership Conference made headlines by attacking conservative journalist Katherine Timpf:

Campus Reform’s Katherine Timpf attended the National Young Feminist Leadership Conference (NYFLC) — an event which promised to be about “inclusivity” and welcoming everyone — only to be told that “conservative” women were not welcome.
Timpf attempted to ask students’ their opinions on feminism, but conference organizers made an announcement advising participants not to talk to Campus Reform because it was a “conservative” outlet.
The organizers also followed Timpf around the conference to interrupt her conversations with students to tell them the same thing.
“They’re a group that’s conservative, so what we are fighting for is not something…” one organizer told a student who was talking with Timpf, prompting the student to walk away. . . .
“You guys aren’t wanted here,” a participant told the reporter after the warning.
“I thought this was supposed to be an inclusive thing, why am I being excluded because of where I work?” Timpf asked another organizer after another interruption.
“Because the place that you work is not inclusive,” the organizer responded.

After seeing these feminist festivities, I’m sure many young women are asking, “What can I do? I’d like to be a feminist, but I can’t afford to attend a national conference or spend years getting a Women’s Studies degree from an elite private university.”

Relax, ladies. Becoming a feminist is actually very simple:

  1. Get an abortion;
  2. Become a lesbian;
  3. Vote Democrat;
    and
  4. Cats. Lots of cats.

You’re welcome. Always glad to help.

What else there isn’t in any of those pictures are women of color. But maybe they’re in other pictures.

Anyhow… the “you weren’t queer enough” charges are sort of ironic… you start down that road of forced “tolerance” and searching for yet another thing to be aggrieved over and it turns around to bite you in the butt. Every. Last. Time.

The essence of Feminism is racism. Specifically, a fear of non-Caucasian men. Seems they fled the Dem-owned plantations for colleges and universities bringing them into proximity to these women. These women don’t fear the Caucasian Bill Clinton or the Caucasian Bob Filner – no, it’s disgust with non-whites that drives their pseudo-lesbian rage at having men on campus. And since they can’t be out and out racists, ALL men must be banned from college.

They all look pretty queer to me.

Seriously though, conservatives may not all agree on the whole conservative agenda but we don’t have the inherent contradictions and irreconcilable differences endemic of the left. Queer, isn’t it?

I just don’t know how you do this, RS. I spend lots of time reading the ravings of whackadoodle, bat guano crazy Warmists, people who blame the Chilean earthquake on “climate change”, people who want to put me in jail, etc and so on, but these feminists, good God almighty, I’m not sure words and phrases like unhinged, bat sh*t insane, really cover these people.

Made the mistake of dating a gal like this a few years ago. She came off as smart and witty (MS from Georgetown, IIRC), going for a law degree.

But the veneer came off a few months later, when her LSAT scores couldn’t get her into Thomas Cooley, much less a middle of the road law school. All of a sudden, the LSAT was patriarchally biased, and other nonsense. As soon as the contacts were eschewed for the Rick Madcow glasses, I told her vaya con dios.

Yeah, “turning” a lesbian seems like fun when you start out, but eventually it grinds you down and you almost forget what you were like before you started…ruins you for normal women for a while.

You know, if I die tomorrow, I’d like you guys to remember this post, as an exemplar of a comic method or two:

First, the way the “cat lady” theme was set-up in the opening caption then — boom! — it returns as the closer.

Second, the way the “moderately attractive” line was set-up, and then the photo, and then — boom! — it returns, with new meaning.

I mean, it seems like Ace can just throw comic riffs day and night with no effort, but I really work on some of these gags.

Agreed. There’s no reason to torture small animals that do good by hunting various vermin. After all, a cat is his own citizen, and not slave like his obedience to a master.

I had a cat once, and I liked him. But I grew up in a house with many cats, and I’m convinced that cats are running a scam to get fed and get someone to open the door for them.

I currently have two house plants. That’s as close as I’ll ever get to having a pet again.

BTW: I hate my house plants.

It’s not a scam if you’re not tricked into doing it.
I was left to care for (water) someone’s plants while they were gone for a few weeks and I did at least once. I’m very proud that none of the dried plants died even though I was informed they were over watered.

While McCain is busy attacking teen porn stars and crazy feminists, liberals are scoring wins—->Mozilla CEO is forced to step down because of his anti-gay support. That’s the big controversy happening for some time now (its now trending top on memeorandum.)

It’s amazing how McCain finds time to rebut a Vanderbilt univ. student (who nobody knows about) on HuffPo (whose post till date has ZERO comments) but didn’t have one thing to say about things that really matter (Mozilla CEO.)

It’s okay. The cats know how you feel. And one day you will come to regret that – maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life.

I had an old Siamese with the people sense. My first ex-father-in-law had never been around a cat in his life, sat in my home for the first time, and the old cat jumped in his lap. “What do I do?” he asked in fear. I told him just scratch his head, and they became fast friends.

More importantly, my first ex-father-in-law was never attacked by a pack of vengeful cats. Coincidence? Perhaps . . .

Yes, of both feminists and warming/greenie nuts. It’s up sharply like a hyperbolic curve, but it started in earnest back around Bush v Gore. The recount theater gave the left permission to go completely insane in every area. It grew with the “antiwar” movement that died with the 2008 election, but it’s getting out of hand.

Allow me: you see, McCain is trying to cover and bring out the stories that no one else is covering in relation to these, er, cultural phenomena. Everybody is commenting on the Mozilla thing. Plenty of choices.

McCain may not have broken the Kaitlyn Hunt or Belle Knox stories, but he was throwing some of the first logs on the bonfires. Before everybody was talking about them. Or what they mean to our culture.

  45. Anon Y. Mous
    April 4th, 2014 @ 4:27 am

Mozilla: So you prefer it when all the blogs are all talking about the same story – no interest in seeing someone cover something that the rest aren’t? Why bother reading more than one? Just read the story at your go-to blog, and you are all set.

Kimberlin: That guy actually has a body count. Not to mention he is currently engaged in lawfare against our host. It is hardly surprising that such a person would be of greater concern to someone who happens to be one of his targets.

Feminists / Gays: These people are Democrats. Any attempt to recruit them would require the GOP to try to emulate the Democrats, which wouldn’t work anyway, since the Democrats are better at being Democrats.

If I was a young fellow, they’d all be fixing me sandwiches — and grateful for the opportunity.

Researchers have noted that there has been a marked increase of lesbianism since April 1989, which was when I got married. Most people think this is just a coincidence, but I think a lot of women just gave up hope: If they couldn’t have me …

Of course, I’ve got four sons, so the trend may be reversing itself now.
