Three people are dead after a gunman opened fire at a Jewish Community Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Reports indicate that the gunman, Frazier Glenn Miller, was a “raging anti-Semite” who nevertheless had once been invited to speak at Missouri State University by a professor who wanted “to show students what real extremism looks like.” We may suppose the carnage in Overland Park will now be counted as an “extra credit” project for honors graduates.

Perhaps Missouri State needs to invite some sane people to campus, because nobody at MSU seems to know what sanity looks like.

I read the comments from the professor in Springfield. It’s hard to criticize him based upon the Buzzfeed article. Sunlight is the best disinfectant and exposing the truth about these lunatics’ beliefs is a worthy endeavor. As an aside, perhaps the students can now distinguish between rabid racism and the the brand of “racism” which attaches to any criticism of the current administration.

(Aside: Lest there be confusion about my comments, recently I showed my sons a letter I wrote to Ronald Reagan and his response, when I protested his declining to sell more F-16s to Israel after the IDF had used the first batch to bomb the reactor in Baghdad. I support Israel and the Jewish Nation.)

Your title is incorrect. He killed two Methodists and the third person’s religion has not been reported. Oh, and he has also run for office … as a democrat.

The professor’s conduct is perplexing. He evidently teaches comparative religion, so it’s difficult to figure how this malicious old man fills the bill.

The answer is: technically yes, but practically no. While the death penalty has been on the books since April 22, 1994, following the reinstitution of capital punishment in 1976, and even though there are ten men on death row in Kansas, no one has been executed by the state since reinstitution.

If you’re part of an organization called the White Nationalist Patriot Party(the Tea Party might as well call themselves that!)then I think it’s safe to say you’re on the right.
