Virginia GOP Pulls a Fast One

A Democrat member of the Virginia state Senate has announced he will resign, a move that will likely prevent newly elected Democrat Gov. Terry McAuliffe from imposing ObamaCare on the state — and this appears to have been arranged by Virginia Republicans in a thoroughly Machiavellian maneuver that will give GOP control of the state Senate.

    I suspect the GOP appealed to Puckett’s self-interest, IE, continued employment. This move doesn’t happen without Puckett realizing on which side his bread is buttered.

    Pretty much. Puckett knew he was probably going down to defeat this year since his district went heavily for Romney in 2012 and somewhat less so for Stacy’s Crazy Cousin John in ’08.
