Crazy People Are Dangerous

Say hello to Brandon Gille and, while you’re at it, go ahead and say good-bye, because he will almost certainly spend the rest of his life behind bars. Gille went on a stabbing spree at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, on Saturday. All 11 of his victims survived the attack and, for once, the “Ann Coulter Rule” turned out to be wrong in this case. Police were for some reason unwilling to identify the suspect in the immediate aftermath of Saturday’s attack, even though they had the guy in custody. The Ann Coulter Rule specifies that, the longer the police delay identifying the perp, the greater the likelihood that it’s not a white guy. So everybody was speculating that the Traverse City stabber must be a Muslim or perhaps an illegal immigrant, but it turned out to be a crazy white guy.

Apologies are owed to everyone in Michigan named Mohammad or José, and also to all the psychiatric patients who did not go on a stabbing spree Saturday. We’re sorry for the unfair suspicion. Blame the cops.

Did I mention he’s crazy? Yeah, cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs:

He has multiple past arrests for criminal mischief and drug offenses and previously served 49 days in jail in Florida in 2014 for vandalism.
Two possible self-published books by Gille and available on Amazon reveal him as a born-again Christian.
The author turned to prayer at age 14 in 1997 after the “unfortunate loss of one of my close friends,” the blurb on one of the books reads.
The book, which purports to be autobiographical, lays out how its author had dreams tracing his past lives back millions of years.
“Some of those New Testament dreams of mine portrayed me as Jesus Christ or God and him as Judas Iscariot,” the writer says.
In another book published in January last year, the author describes an apparent autobiographical account of his “astonishing revelation of his own identity as Jesus Christ and the spirit as Judas Iscariot.”

Going to guess that this delusional guy with a history of drug abuse was homeless. Crazy People Are Dangerous. And now for the good news:

A stabbing attack at a Walmart store in Traverse City, Michigan, left 11 people injured on Sunday. But what could have been far worse was stopped by a two bystanders, and one man in particular is being praised across social media, Derrick Perry.
Video from the scene, later verified by CNN, shows the suspect being cornered in the parking lot by a group of civilians. One man stands out, pointing a gun directly at the suspect, keeping him frozen in place until police arrived. That man is Perry.
While authorities haven’t officially named him, Perry’s family and locals have identified him in Facebook posts, calling him a true hero.
