Remind me again why this guy hasn’t been press-ganged into running for POTUS? Rubio sports more authenticity in a short speech than the entirety of the Mitt Romney cannon:

Oh yeah: some Ruling Class Overlord hasn’t yet decided it’s Rubio’s ‘turn’, or something.

    Yep. Obama is an epic failure. I would, however, hate to see Rubio on the WH because of his views on how “hateful” people have been talking about illegal immigration. No one is perfect, but there are certain things we should be able to reasonably expect from a GOP candidate, and one of those things is not talking down to us about how hateful those who expect the law to be enforced are.

    Sorry, but Rubio doesn’t do it for me either.

    I am not defending our GOP Establishment Overlords, but I am sure everyone wants Rubio as their running mate if they get the nomination and he is willing.  He is wisely not taking sides.

    Rubio will very likely be President one day, but he lacks the necessary experience now.  Let him serve a term or so in the Senate and go back to Florida and be Governor for a term or two to get the administrative experience necessary to qualify one to run the world’s biggest operation. 

    We’ve got a fine bench coming along, one day the base won’t grouse about the field in the primaries:  Rubio, Jindal, McDonnell, Walker, Johnson, West, maybe even Rick Scott.   Head and shoulders over anyone the Democrats could put up BUT everyone needs the experience of managing, you just can’t start someone at the top and expect them to be successful.

    And rushing the young talent into the national spotlight too soon tends to get them chewed up so badly it is hard for them to ever recover in the court of public opinion – see Quayle and Palin for examples.

    What has Rubio ever done (other than supposedly being “Hispanic”) to merit all the praise which some people on the right heap on him?

    If you want to talk about top-notch authentic conservative Senators, Jim deMint is streets ahead of Rubio in every possible way. (Except for that “Hispanic” thang)

    Thanks so much for posting this.  I do like Rubio, but also think he needs more experience to take on the increased challenges we face today.  But really, Americans are so damned hungry for a leader who loves this country warts and all, speaks of pride in our accomplishments rather than constantly apologizing for its failures and can unite Americans in the common values we do share rather than drive the wedge deeper into the heart of our nation as Obama seems to relish in doing.  Reagan wasn’t perfect nor were his policies.  What we loved about him was how every time he spoke he brought us closer together, made us feel good about ourselves, stronger in spirit and pride, and more hopeful about our future.  That is the leadership, the synergy, the truth and the promise we need from whoever we choose next to guide us through the dangerous times ahead.
