It’s Easy To Pile On The Ice

There was massive enthusiasm, about “The Green Zamboni – a Canadian icon fights climate change” just a couple of months ago. Zambonis at the men’s speedskating event at the Vancouver Winter Olympics were to be a vast improvement.

Past all of the granola-head posturing, they were trying something new, as this blog did on 01Jan10. And like most new projects, they’re finding out that being shiny, in and of itself, doesn’t always git ‘er done: “Speed skating ice woes threaten green sheen”.

Possibly the “change for its own sake” crowd has tampered with what works, broken it, and merits the hoisting on their own petard. Or, completely unrelated factors have triggered this. Hopefully not something nefarious.

After this call for calm, if it proves that green, “faith based technology” is at fault, then, flog the weenies about the head and shoulders, say I.
