Having previously dabbled in the political blame game with the Pentagon shooter, I think now it’s time to play the “Reefer Madness” card on the late J. Patrick Bedell:

I have a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and studied biochemistry at San Jose State University. . . .
My desire for justice led me to violate what I think is one of the most unjust laws, cannabis prohibition, by growing 16 cannabis plants on my balcony in Irvine, CA from March 2006 to June 2006. . . .
One desired result of my effort is (will be) billions and billions of carefully cultivated, highly valuable cannabis plants growing throughout the United States with complete security of property. . . . This is a way of associating the work of Ludwig von Mises with financial value, which may be a tool to implement his ideas in reality.

Speaking of “tools,” the unlinkable Charles Johnson seized on this murderous dopehead’s Mises reference to implicate libertarianism. Single-sentence refutation:

Ronald Reagan was likewise a “devotee” of Mises and F.A. Hayek, but was not a murderous dopehead.

Case closed. But two can play the Little Green Footballs game:

J. Patrick Bedell was from Southern California, just like Charles Johnson, Charles Manson and O.J. Simpson.

Coincidence? I don’t think so.

Good points, esp. about Reagan’s admiration for Mises and Hayek. The Hot Air community, Patterico, et al., are having a field day on the fact that they can *finally* now expel libertarians/libertarian-leaners from the conservative movement.

I’m an Old Right conservative (libertarian today) because that’s who my grandparents were, and they were far more virtuous and wiser than any mainstream pundit I’ve ever read or heard in my entire life … none of which deserve to even shine their lowly blue-collar shoes.

If these games are what it means to be conservative, count me out! Actually, count me as an enemy.

I tried driving over to the address listed on his voter registration, and found that he lived in the Ridgemark Golf & Country Club, in a gated community. There was a guard shack preventing me from finishing my journey. I decided not to use the Bedell Option to enter, and went home instead.

AIG announced that AIG Financial Advisors is being re-branded (changing its name) to SagePoint Financial. Clearly they are trying to distance themselves from the negative brand image that the mother-ship, AIG, is enjoying at the moment. AIGFA is the second largest of the three B/D’s in the AIG Advisor Group. The other two being Royal Alliance and FSC – who, conveniently, are not tainted at the moment with the AIG brand name……..

I don’t know either if the father John Bedell of Hollister is related to Jeff Bedell of Sacramento but their businesses seem to be similar including AIG and it appears SagePoint Financial connections.I wonder if they have an Agora Inc connection as well ?
