Still Trying To Help TrogloPundit Get It

TrogloPundit is confused by all of this Byzantine DC pettifoggery on the healthcare legislation, but we here at ToM are nothing if not helpful.
In this clip, the plan is for the legislation to be wheeled up to the castle-like Senate in a wooden cart. The House Democrats, it seems, refer to the Senate as “Frenchmen”. The rabbit decoration is all part of the gag, so that the Senators will be so busy laughing that they’ll play along with the House, sign whatever is put in front of them, and deliver the Grail needed to save the presidency.
Steny Hoyer does a fine job of explaining the plan.
Also, Harry Reid’s rather phallic headwear tops off the excellent costuming on display:

    Dateline Washington D.C.June 2010:

In a surprise news conference, citing statistics that show that millions of Americans lack access to daily newspapers, today President Obama, surrounded by Congressional Democrats, signed into law a mandate for all Americans to subscribe to the New York Times.

” While it is true that this bill was passed in secrecy yesterday by Congressional Democrats, in the interests of transparency the bill was posted on the internet this morning, and Congressional Republicans briefed on the bill this afternoon, announced President Obama as he signed the bill into law.”
