‘Patriot Majority PAC’ Is Neither Patriotic Nor Are They a Majority: Discuss

Posted on | June 9, 2010 | 23 Comments

A “union-backed slush fund,” as Kyle Drennen called them in March. I’d never heard of them before, but when their ad bashing Republican Nevada Senate nominee Sharron Angle showed up in rotation on my blog, I decided to find out.

Among other things, Patriot Majority PAC claims to “support our troops” and “patriotic policies,” but who do they really support? Democrats.

Patriot Majority PAC “is in fact the creation of two men — Craig Varoga and George Rakis, Democratic Party strategists who have set up a number of so-called 527 groups,”  Joseph Abrams of Fox News reported:

Calls and e-mails to the Maryland-based consultant firm Independent Strategies, run by Varoga and Rakis, were not returned.
Outside of that firm, the center of their activity appears to be a single office in Southeast D.C. — 300 M Street, Suite 1102 — which plays host to a sprawling political shell game they have established.
Public records show at least seven political shops listed in Suite 1102, most of which are essentially clones of one another, but all of which have offered money — from measly thousands to game-changing millions — in state-level elections across the country:

  • The American Public Policy Committee
  • Patriot Majority
  • Citizens for Progress
  • Oklahoma Freedom Fund
  • Mid Atlantic Leadership Fund
  • Public Security Now
  • Pioneer Majority
  • Bluegrass Freedom Fund

Read the rest of that important report and do not be deceived by these bogus Democrat scam operations that are trying to cash in on words like “Patriot” and “Freedom” and “Security.”

While you’re at go help Sharron Angle fight back against these smears and Dump Harry Reid.

    The collection … is pure pleasure. I dare you to dip into it anywhere without becoming captivated by the bracing prose, the hard-edged political analysis, the gleeful puncturing of modern cultural idiocy. Most compelling, as always, is the logic, the point-by-point, flawless construction of each case. The notorious vocabulary sparkles everywhere, but the words hang on the strongest chain of unassailable argument.”

    Some things a man types with wicked grins and laughter, knowing he could never write it himself.

    This is what McCain-Feingold has brought us. Activists fronting multiple bogus issue groups to get around restrictions on finances and coordinating with candidates.

    Is this really transparency in elections? I’d much rather have it all above board. Spend as much as you want, just be honest in who you are and who you support.

    “do not be deceived by these bogus Democrat scam operations that are trying to cash in on words like “Patriot” and “Freedom” and “Security.”
    No no. Conservatives are doing just fine cashing in on the aforementioned words.Wouldn’t want someone muscling in on your action….

    This is minor stuff. We need to stop the misleading use of the name “Democratic Party” – they are certainly not, else they would not be constantly trying to undermine the electoral process.

    Unfortunately, “Communist Party USA” has already been trademarked, so they will need a completely original new name. I suggest “America-Hating Totalitarian Party” or “Social Terrorist Party.”

    ~~~~~~
    young4eyes ~ I understand you are a simpleton, but when you actually CARE about things like patriotism, freedom, and national security, it’s okay to mention them. It’s when the leftists who have no intention of supporting any of those things EVER use them to deceive the public that objection is warranted.
    Public schools, yes?
  • PAC Man
    Not Patriots and not Majority, but they are a PAC!
    Hey, 33% true is 33% higher than the Left’s usual average-level-of-truth, give them some credit.
    (See, y4e, the difference between Conservatives and Leftists using those words is the difference between truth and falsehood. It’s OK to cash in on the truth. Truth is good, falsehood is bad. I know it’s confusing.)
    Oh Estrogen,so brash yet so stupid. You’ve been easily fooled into thinking that people like me don’t care about freedom,patriotism or national security.Well, listening to talk radio all day might do that to you. The problem here is that using words like’ freedom’ and patriotism’ isn’t something people do for it’s own sake, but done to take people like you and your ilk for a ride to the ATM machine.
    Hey, ‘freedom’, ‘patriotism’ and ‘national security’ were heavily used in the 04 Presidential campaign. How’d that work out for you sucker? No, the simpleton is staring back at you when you look in the mirror.
    And PacMan, It’s OK to cash in on the truth? Tell that to Wall Street. Better yet, tell that to the Conservatives who ran on the “fiscal responsibility” jazz all these years. They’re laughing all the way to the bank!
    Suckers!
    “Freedom, Patriotism, National Security”
    y4e- If you think you and your allies support those, then I don’t think those things mean what you think they mean.
    Also, Obama is proof that all those pseudo-conservatives who spent money like it was growing on trees really were being fiscally responsible (in a relative sense). You ain’t seen fiscal irresponsibility, ’til you’ve seen Democrat fiscal irresponsibility!
