VA-8′s Clown Prince of Goofballs, “Gentleman” Jim Moran, can be relied upon to touch his forehead to the deck whenever required for the President:

Rep. Jim Moran sounded a similar warning Friday. The Virginia Democrat said the McConnell proposal “is not about what’s in the best interest of the country” but about “weakening the Democratic Party for the next decade.”

“We’re dealing with people who care first about making sure that President Obama is not reelected,” Moran said.

“This is a much more defining vote than many have accepted,” he added, referring to Democratic leaders.

Moran said the leaders’ desire for a quick debt-ceiling hike is understandable, as several powerful finance agencies have warned this week that the United States’ sterling triple-A credit rating is in jeopardy if Congress doesn’t act soon.

“They’re figuring we’ve got to raise the debt ceiling, so we don’t have any choice but to do it on [Republicans’] terms,” he said. “That’s why we’re at a disadvantage.”

Mr. Moran, sir: no one cares about these sad, legacy political parties. What a shame your intellectual state doesn’t permit you to see beyond partisan crap and the beltway, which does mostly encompass your district.

    What’s going to happen depends on the results of a government shut down. I’ve resigned myself to it now. When it happens, people will either bless or blame the Tea Party, no doubt about that, and which one it is will just depend on how things go. I am not hopeful. If interest rates go up it might not be so bad, I guess it depends on how high they go. As far as the rest, it all depends on what part of the government is shut down. If as I suspect border security will be cut substantially and it results in a new wave of illegal immigrants, the Tea Party is going to look kind of stupid bitching about it. Obama and the Democrats sure won’t care, hell Jerry Brown in California has just practically hanged a great big welcome sign to illegals. They are now eligible for scholarships. You think that won’t draw more here?

    It’s probably going to be 1996 all over again. Might as well get ready for a second four year Obama term, and who knows how many Obama appointed Supreme Court Justices, and a plethora of federal judges. It’s going to be a big damn mess and it will ruin the country for the remainder of our lifetimes, maybe for good. All because the Tea Party insist on a fight they damn well know they can’t win without giving up something.

    I thought they were smart enough to learn from history. Evidently not.

    Oh I forgot to mention. That 2012 Presidential election? Who do you think Romney should choose for a running mate? Cos I can guarantee you if the Tea Party keeps on and pulls this stunt and things get as shitty as they very likely will get, that’s not going to look good on a Tea Party candidate’s resume’. Michelle Bachmann is really cutting her throat here and doesn’t even know it.

    Jeez they are refusing to sign the bill submitted by JOHN BOEHNER-THEIR OWN HOUSE SPEAKER. I think I’M getting a migraine thinking about this crap.

    Boehner’s plan would raise the debt ceiling, and most Americans still don’t think the debt ceiling should be raised.

    I don’t think it should be raised either. But that’s just not a tenable position right now. It’s also not a realistic one. I wonder how high its going to be raised if Obama is reelected, especially if he has a larger number of Congressional Democrats to work with him.

    Why would a position you agree with not be tenable? By whose judgment are you measuring tenability, and why should their judgment supersede that of a majority of Americans?
