GOP Wins Recall Battle in Wisconsin

Posted on | August 10, 2011 | 34 Comments

Outspent 2-to-1 by Democrats and unions, Republicans held onto control of the Wisconsin state senate, winning four of six challenged seats in Tuesday’s recall elections. And next week, two Democrat senators will face their own recall challenges. Allahpundit live-blogged the whole thing and concludes: “After months of agitation over the collective bargaining law, the supreme court election, and now the recalls, [the Democrats] haven’t regained control of anything.”

Democrats are claiming the GOP cheated. Given the abject corruption of the Democrats and their union-goon allies, that’s rather an ironic charge. It’s like being accused of incivility by Al Sharpton. Speaking of whom . . .

If Obama loses re-election, I almost guarantee it will push Sharpton over the edge maybe to having a stroke, if he doesn’t have one before then. Reminds me of Amy Winehouse on stage in Serbia.

That money the unions and others spent to try to defeat the Republicans, is less money they will have use to pay for other campaigns. That also means less money for Obama too.

Hopefully, that money won’t simply be replaced from Soros’ newly acquired $10 billion kitty (his wager on the downgrade, as rumor would have it).

Plus no telling how much they’ll spend on the two recall elections of two Democrat Senators next week.

Al Sharpton is a Klansman. Why give him any press? One needn’t be a psychic to know what he has to say about any subject at all.

What’s with Sharpton?  Been in Barry’s stash?  Does he need contacts?  I suspect MSNBC already knows they have a loser on their hands – they’re deliberately sloooowly scrolling his script, so he looks like an even bigger lump.

Wow, a Kos Kool-Aider whining about Republican money, and cheating. I can’t engage people like this, so kindly relate to the writer that Democrat chances of doing that well in Republican-held House districts are very, very slim. Pick up 33% of them? A lot can change between now and then, granted, but I doubt things will change that much.

Yeah, I love how Kos extrapolates a winning percentage from a special election in one state with 1/5 of one legislative branch on the ballot and thinks that it’s going to translate on the national stage.  Delusional much?

On top of that, one of the two Republicans that got beat by rights probably shouldn’t have been there to begin with. His election in that district was a fluke, one of those anomalies that happen from time to time. His defeat last night was expected. The other race the Democrats won was so close it could have easily gone either way.

The Republicans would be foolish not to set the bar a little higher for recall elections.

According to ACE the left outspent by 2 to 1, it would be interesting to know how much of that was spent defending the two Social Democrat’s seats.
