As If the Campaign Wasn’t Weird Enough

Posted on | November 30, 2011 | 95 Comments

Say hello to competitive bodybuilder Kimberly Vay, whose photo I’m posting not just as eye-candy for muscle-girl fetishists, but because she is relevant to the Herman Cain campaign.

No, no — not that way. Quite the opposite. Ms. Vay was the business partner of Cain’s alleged mistress, Ginger White:

The female bodybuilder who once ran a bicycle business with latest Herman Cain accuser Ginger White says the Atlanta woman never mentioned the Republican presidential candidate, who she says was her lover for 13 years.
“His name has never come up,” said Kimberly Vay, who told ABC News that she and White were former business partners.
But Vay, who filed and won a libel lawsuit against White, refused to comment directly when asked whether she considers White’s accusations about Cain credible. “When you see the details of my lawsuit,” said Vay, “they will speak for themselves.” . . .
According to Vay’s suit, which was filed in June 2011, White and Vay were partners in a fitness coaching business called No Limit Cycling, and held spinning classes inside the Martin Luther King Recreation Center, which is owned by the City of Atlanta. In November 2010, claimed Vay, White asked to end their partnership, with White continuing to operate No Limit Cycling, and Vay agreed.
On December 9, according to the complaint, White sent a “defamatory” note to a master email list of the company’s clients and to city officials. The email said that White’s business had “come tumbling down [on] the day I invited Kim Vay into my life and my business” and that Vay had turned her “dream” into a “nightmare.” According to the complaint, the email alleged that Vay, a competitive bodybuilder, injected veterinary drugs into her system prior to contests,” and also said that Vay preferred to date black men but had made derogatory comments about black women’s hair.
Vay’s complaint termed the allegation about drug use “false, malicious, defamatory” and “reckless,” and therefore libelous.

Does this exonerate Cain? Not necessarily. But it would seem to indicate that when White doesn’t get her way, she can be extraordinarily vengeful toward whoever she’s angry at.

Despite all of the obituaries for the Cain campaign, then, what do we know about the three accusers whose names are public?

Everybody keeps saying there’s an awful lot of smoke for there to be no fire, but each of these women has something in her background that tends to taint her credibility. A month into this, and we have no actual proof that Cain did anything wrong.

The 2012 campaign just keeps getting weirder and weirder. When this year began, I never imagined that covering a presidential campaign would compel me, as a professional journalist, to publish a photo of this bizarrely muscular woman who probably inspires perverse lust in your depraved hearts.

So go ahead and check out her glutes, you sick freaks.

She’s actually a pretty good looking female body builder.  Most skinny themselves down fat wise and lose their boobs.  This one has bulked up a bit and has natural curves.

Cain admitted to the friendship and to giving White money.  So what difference does it make that White never mentioned Cain to Vay?

Question: was Mrs. Cain aware of the charitable friendship Cain had with White?  If not, why not?

“nine months behind on her rent”

That’s the second time you’ve mentioned that now.

Has it occurred to you that that number tracks fairly closely with when she claims Cain stopped seeing her?

I don’t find Vay attractive. I like much softer curves. In other words, I like women that look feminine, and Vay doesn’t.

Sure he did. He told Mrs. Cain that his relationship with Ginger was a “pastoral” one. As in, he was praying she wouldn’t find out he was boffing her.

I think this post pretty much puts this matter to bed. Ginger White is obviously trying to damage Herman Cain. There could be absolutely no truth to her story, otherwise why wouldn’t she have told Kimberly Vay. You know, the woman who ended up suing her?

If Cain is telling the truth, he’s too stupid about people to be anywhere near the presidency. What married man gives money to an unrelated down-on-her-luck woman and allows a “friendship” to develop like that? The appearance of impropriety is so great that any grown man ought to know not to do that.

Not that I think he’s telling the truth. Nobody gives money to an able-bodied person and calls them for years without getting something in return. I don’t buy the friendship thing. If they were just friends, it would have been a one-time loan. By the way, you don’t get to claim a pastoral relationship unless you’re a pastor.

Yeesh.  If Ginger White was a man instead of a woman, would you be then claiming that Herman Cain must be gay?

Because no one ever has friends of the opposite gender that aren’t married, y’know.

I hadn’t thought about that, since she’s not a man. I don’t see any reason to follow that line of thought. I know this: if that were my husband, giving OUR money to a woman and calling her in the middle of the night, he’d be packing his bags.

If Cain is telling the truth, he’s too stupid about people to be anywhere near the presidency.

You are exactly right.   It does not MATTER if Cain was a harasser, or unfaithful.  He evidently has no judgment whatsoever about people.

(Mark Block is a prime example, by the way.  He’s not much loved in Wisconsin, and arguably left the Cain Train with some significant campaign-finance problems–which have triggered FEC and IRS investigations.)

And if the Cain Gang thinks that ‘poor people judgment’ is not really a big problem, then watch what happens with Scott Walker in Wisconsin, whose Dep’t of Workforce Devel’t has had THREE (count’em) CEO’s in less than 1 year.  Think the (D) boyzzz are ignoring that?  Think again.

Interesting element of an hypothesis, given the bimbo’s other baggage not very persuasive. As you pointed out yesterday if her assertions are true, much more persuasive evidence should be easily obtainable and I submit she’d have little trouble gaining assistance in producing that evidence if it exists.

    Adobe,

I stand behind that remark — of all the stories told about Cain, this is the one that, if true, should be most easily verified.

He allegedly saw her on and off for 13 years, flew her to distant destinations to spend time with her, etc.

Covering up one incident in a car or one night in a hotel room might be doable. Covering up 13 years of philandering, not so much. There would likely be credible corroborating witnesses. There would almost certainly be receipts showing them in the same city on multiple occasions beyond being believably coincidental. She claims he took her to a boxing match in Vegas. There would be crowd shots showing them together. And so on and so forth.

So, if it isn’t substantiated to some degree of certainty, IMO it didn’t happen.

But as far as “the bimbo’s other baggage,” as you put it, is concerned, that cuts both ways, as I argue over at my own blog.

Yes, these are exactly the kind of women you’d expect to make gold-digging false accusations … but they’re also exactly the kind of women you’d expect a sexual harasser and/or chronic philanderer to pick up on.

Cain’s campaign is over (yeah it is over) because Cain is not ready for prime time.  I am willing (although I have doubts) to give Cain the benefit of doubt.  But when former supporters get put in this sort of position, it is over.

If this was an unfair set up, Team Cain should have been dealing with this from day one.  Along with basic foriegn policy questions, explaining how 999 would work, etc.  I like Herman Cain, I like applying marketing for political ideas,  I like the businessman approach, but ulitmiately Team Cain was not ready.

I hope I am wrong…but I think most of you know I am right.

    GAHCindy,

I generally agree with your line of reasoning. However, I’ve never been a multi-millionaire like Mr. Cain. A millionaire may feel a different sort of obligation when hearing a “plausible” sob story. I hear a sob story I may give advice instead of money. Mr. Cain may have wrongly thought he was helping a down on her luck woman get back on her feet. He wouldn’t be the first guy to get conned by a girl with a sad story. Also, wouldn’t be first to be turned against by that same woman when the spigot is turned off. A friendly gesture quickly get interpreted to be an entitlement by people of her ilk.

I don’t know the dollar amount he gave her so I don’t know whether it would be enough to alarm his wife.  For all I know his wife may have been aware of the generosity.  I have a general idea how my wife would feel if I was giving money to some broad. She knows how cheap I am so she would definitely think something is up if I give cash away. Mrs. Cain may already know her husband is much more giving than I and therefore not as shocked by this news.

It all might hinge on who was calling whom.
If he was calling her at all manner of the day, then things take a fishy turn, but if he was relating to her in a pastoral sense, and she was calling him, then he was just doing what he was supposed to do (a pastor helping sombody out, which rules out ruling people out due to their gender or anything else).

The bodybuilder isn’t bad.  They don’t usually look that pumped when not on stage and thus more average appearing in “real life”, and while I like curves (which this one has) I also like athletic women (soft/mushy and thin/frail don’t do a thing for me — way too breakable looking and unhealthy).

The problem with the theory is that non of these other women are vulnerable, some gold diggers are better at it than others that doesn’t make the less adept “vulnerable”.

The only other one I’ve seen details on appears to have been vulnerable (jobless and seeking Cain’s assistance) at the time of the alleged incident — but also vulnerable (jobless, single mom, just lost sugar daddy fiancee) at the time of her public revelation.

She might have been a gold-digger, or  a victim, in either, both, or neither of those two instances. I’m not claiming to know which. I’m just pointing out that it cuts both ways — the financial/romantic stuff that makes her “not credible” also matches the profile for the kind of gal that kind of predator goes for.
