It Never Happened, Nobody Saw It Happen, and I Was Never There

Ben Howe, Moe Lane, Roger Simon, Bryan Preston, Paul Mirengoff, Gabriel Malor, Rob Bluey, Dan Riehl, Ace of Spades,  Mike Flynn, Philip Klein, Jim Antle, Michael Brendan Dougherty, Justin Hart, John Hawkins, Adam Tragone, Alana Goodman, Mary Katharine Ham, Katie Pavlich, Stephen Hayes, Alex Pappas, Byron York, Matt Lewis, Lachlan MarkayJames JoynerAmanda Carpenter, Jim Geraghty . . .

You may ask: “What do these people have in common?”

Answer: They are all notorious right-wing liars.

So if any of them claim they were all together at a “secret meeting” with a so-called VIP Wednesday afternoon in D.C., don’t believe a word of it.

If someone tries to tell you that my phone rang in the middle of the alleged “meeting” and that, while trying to turn off my phone, I knocked over my coffee cup, which spilled in Alana Goodman’s lap . . .?

Lies. All lies.

Also, the thing about Ace calling Dan Riehl a “kiss-ass”? Never happened.

Which isn’t to say that Dan is incapable of ass-kissing – “Oh, thank you and your lovely wife for favoring us with your gracious presence, Governor” – but I’m pretty sure that Ace would have described him as an “obsequious sycophant” rather than a mere ass-kisser, had they ever been sitting next to each other in a meeting with a VIP, which they so obviously weren’t.

Never trust those lying liars. Because they lie.

UPDATE: Thanks to Zilla of the Resistance who, via Twitter, offers this new hashtag: #NotGoodEnoughForRomCon — heh!

To make clear: I officially deny everything.

UPDATE II: The Lonely Conservative is hurt that she didn’t get invited to The Meeting That Never Happened. William Jacobson says: “I would not have gone, so it’s a good thing you didn’t invite me.” Except of course, there was no meeting!

The wild-eyed rumors that such a meeting happened are being spread by Lying Liars Who Lie, and you shouldn’t believe them.

UPDATE III: Bethany Mandel offers helpful encouragement:

I think you are mentally unbalanced. You need professional help.

Thanks! I needed that!

I think you should re-read this with an eye towards the non-serious tone used to non=report this non-event that nobody went to.
If anything (or nothing), nobody owes a certain, rumored not somebody (in some circles) a round of not too alcoholic beverages for not running a non-distraction rather than just getting all non-pacific about it and allowing the non-media to not run with it.

Not that it probably doesn’t matter.

     Plymouth Gin rocks.

Lemmon 714 vodka gimlets also rock, not that you’ll remember though.

Rose’s Lime Juice, of course. Sweet and sharp, just as intended! Makes the best lime rickeys too!
Always used a shot in the bottom of a pint glass, then added a good lager for a perfect shandy on a hot summer’s day (here in Florida, that could be year-round)

Journolist only played with our team and has long been played out, as for Media Matters the general public could care less/isn’t paying attention and the Bolsheviks think they’re doing Gods work. Calling out the lefts hypocrisy and their media’s bias doesn’t seem to get that much traction, calling them on it is a good tactic but is only effective to a point. Meanwhile there’s a war to fight and we must be better AT it than they are not merely better than they are.

Bethany is wrong, of course. You are balanced, just in need of seriously large amounts of alcohol and some adrenochrome  and extract of the pineal gland. Preferably accompanied by your Samoan attorney (or a short, bald man) in a convertible (did I mention I drive a convertible and live 15 minutes from the site of the convention site across the bay in Tampa?) …

There’s a big difference between “journalists” who are supposed to be objective purveyors of the facts, and bloggers/pundits who make no secret of their affiliations.

Adobe, Pagan…again…”and when did the left/left leaning media care one bit for reporting the truth about the right?”.

And now, if Obama gets a tongue bath from the press and Mitt gets kicked in the slats — and the conservative bloggers raise holy hell about it the left wing media will do what?  And if the conservative bloggers say anything nice or defend Romney it will be because of what (according to the left)?

So what are we supposed to do, PW, just shut up and say nothing because of how the Left might portray it?

I think you underestimate the intelligence of the American people to begin with. Most people know the difference between a reporter and a pundit.

If they don’t, then they probably don’t care one way or another.

Stacy’s name is at or near the top of lists to a great many of these types of events. In fact, his name is one of the first written down. Then that list is sent out. Then they make the list of people they want to attend.

I’m the guy that spilled something in Mary Katherine Hamm’s lap

Back in the good ol’ days, conventions would have hospitality suites and open bars, and when there were conventions that weren’t completely foregone conclusions, all the candidates AND most of the delegations would have their own drunken orgies receptions with free refreshments and entertainment.

Then it got all politically correct and stuff, and reporters had to spend their time working on stories, which is what made them so surly.

…and right on schedule some lefties are bringing up the journo brouhaha…

Pagan: you fight back, but you have to either come right out and say “yeah, I am a supporter of canidate so and so” (like this blog did) or you stay completely objective (as much as possible); going to a not secret non-meeting can be used by the media (that more people read, watch, listen to) as propaganda — you fight back, but giving your enemy ammo free gratis isn’t a good way to do it.
