Another Lutheran Extremist!

An 18-year-old named Adel Daoud was arrested after an FBI sting in which Daoud attempted to blow up a Chicago bar with what he believed to be a car bomb. There’s a lot of interesting information in this Associated Press story — e.g., Daoud was “accessing articles written by Anwar al-Awlaki” — but there isn’t a single word about Daoud’s religion.

Us Lutherans are too smart to get caught up in some FBI sting operation. Kinda like those Southron Baptists.

There’s that awful moment of realization when you’re getting no explosion from repeatedly pressing the triggering mechanism: What is this world coming to when you can’t even trust the guy who sold you the truck bomb over the internet not to be working for the FBI?

Why hasn’t the press figured out that if they don’t mention the religion of the prospective bomber, we all figure we know anyway?

It’s the same as when the press fails to mention the party affiliation of the politician who has disgraced him or her self ins some way in the first paragraph. We know it must be a Democrat. So why do they bother? Just write the facts! It’s gotten beyond coy.

Reminds me of a bit of humor in Readers Digest many years back~~~ (three tildes means harp music and wavy video effect)

A teacher sent in an entry in the general humor section (I forget the title of that section) about grading papers. One question was, “What denomination are you?” and he had to mark down a student for poor spelling. He asked the boy about it and said, “Why did you spell ‘Baptist’ as ‘Bhaptiz’?”

The boy answered, “Because I can’t spell Presbyterian.”

They’re not aiming at intelligent and aware people.

Their targets are (1) the ‘low information’ [or as Zombie calls them: ‘Honey Boo Boo’] voters who will think, ‘Ah, just another Lone Whack Job™ and (2) their own kind who want to pretend the it’s just another Lone Whack Job™.

If he’s too lazy/stoopid to build his own bomb, he needs to be off the streets for his own protection. It ain’t rocket science, people.
