Military Endorsements Aren’t Decisive. That Said: WOW!

In deference to #OccupyResoluteDesk, he has half a dozen military endorsements:

Name Note
Wesley Clark, four star General (Ret), former Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO, 2004 presidential candidate Tool.
Richard Danzig, former Secretary of the Navy Not a proper veteran, but we can’t get to ‘half a dozen’ without some sort of shenanigans. Also, really competent, would make a good SECDEF while the country sinks, should BHO achieve re-election.
Paul Eaton, Major General (Ret) Got nothin’.
Donald J. Gutter, retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral, former Judge Advocate General of the Navy, current Dean, Duquesne University School of Law, Pittsburgh JAGs: whattayagonnado?
Michael D. Lumpkin Wikipedia page says: Commander, Captain (O-6) select. As he was a SEAL, we’ll omit the standard mockery for hedging the yes/no question: Did you get paid?
John B. Nathman, retired U.S. Navy Admiral, co-chair of the campaign THAT Nathman.

Just to avoid looking too, let us say, Crowley-esque in my bias, I drop Mitt’s endorsements below the fold:

Yeah, that’s 359 flag officers. To 6. A cool 98.3% of the 365 flags associated with either President. Clearly, the military is some sort of raaaaacism factory. Do note that all of the parties named in this post are retired. Perish the thought of politicizing the active duty military.

As a currently-serving active duty member, I’m not allowed to make certain political statements.

However, it would be safe to say that you can add a certain Air Force staff sergeant (who shall remain unnamed) to that list of Romney endorsements.

I counted six FEMALE flag officers endorsing Romney compared to the six “flag officers” total who endorsed Obama, not a woman among them.

Oh, and there are possibly more, since I didn’t count Casey, Terry, Chris, or the “initials only” group. (I also knew a sweet looking young lady named Michael.)

That was sarcasm. He apparently is infatuated with Obama. Surely there is only so much water a General has to carry even for a President. He didn’t have to call that wacky pastor and tell him to lay off Islam – or did he? Petraeus isn’t in a position to say anything and is probably hoping he isn’t going to get the final blame for Benghazi. Can’t believe he took that job.

Of course no flag officer with any integrity would support Obama, but the sad side is that none of these generals and admirals honored their oath to protect and defend the Constitution. They more than most people had reason to know that Obama is anti-American but all of them loved their perks, ruffles and flourishes too much to do the honorable thing and resign!

In most countries, this sort of situation would mean ‘quit now or expect a coup’.

Thatcher incorrectly proclaimed socialism ‘dead’ in ’79, yet it climbed right out the grave didn’t it. She and Reagan were wrong on that… and Pinochet was right.

I am well and truly convinced at this point that the reason Obama decided to blame the Intelligence Community is due to the fact that the current DCI, Petraeus, is career military. General Petraeus has always struck me as the kind of officer who has so internalized the military value of not publicly questioning civilian leadership that even now as DCI, he will not speak out against the White House when it is throwing him and his under the bus. If the DCI was almost anyone else, he or she would be on Capitol Hill telling Issa EVERYTHING; but Petraeus is such a man of honor that he will not do so.

I am retired now and even when I was active duty I was never pc. I served 22 years and even went to Iraq, but I didn’t do it for the American people-I did it for my kids! Screw politics and politicians!

The funny thing, you said “I did it for my kids”, but in doing so, you did it for MY kids, you did it for your neighbor and kids, etc.

For that, all we can say is GOD BLESS YOU!

    Smitty:
Do you worry at all about USNR superiors looking into your personal political views? When you are doing active duty tours, do you change your blogging behavior?
If Dempsey tells the CNO to monitor your work, that would be a significant test of the UCMJ and the first amendment.
Am I the only one who sees courage in what you are doing here? Some day you might do a post on this issue. I’ll bet folks who are associated with the military would be interested, and if it gets in front of SCOTUS, you will have a major cheering section!
(The WYB is proud of what his dad is doing.)

I watched him excrete at a Diane Watson townhall full of barking lefties where she promised the vermin Nancy Pelosi had a ‘secret plan’ to impeach Bush RETROACTIVELY after the ’08 election. He hada look on his face like a man who realized he’d made a bad choice in life… and I hope it haunts him to his unvisited grave.

It’s amazing how liberals today believe you can support a “c”ommunist and still claim yourself to be an American. And if liberals ever do have their way, they fully intend on rewriting the books on the history of communism. Oh, for the days of McCarthyism!

    You surely don’t
get it!!! Try thinking about such things as the current rules of engagement
that the military is being required to fight under. Try thinking about an
administration leaking classified information to a movie studio about Seal Team
    6. Try thinking about an administration that tells our enemies the exact date
we will leave Afghanistan. One could go
on and on about why this list of Romney supporters is so long. But you either wouldn’t understand or wouldn’t
care because it doesn’t fit your agenda.
