Nobody Really Likes @LenaDunham, and Deep Down Inside She Knows It, Too

“It’s a little fat girl . . . and she keeps taking her clothes off and . . . I don’t want to see that. . . . I learned that this little fat chick writes the show and directs the show and that makes sense to me because she’s such a camera hog that the other characters barely are on.”
Howard Stern

Maybe you know somebody like Lena Dunham. In a way, it’s hard not to feel sorry for people like her. She’s not really that fat or that ugly, but she just can’t get over the fact that she’s not pretty and skinny.

She can never manage to recover from some deep psychic wound, a sort of juvenile ego-trauma that left her with such a profoundly damaged personality that she spends the rest of her life trying to get revenge against the world for bad things that happened to her years ago.

Anyway, if you know somebody like Lena Dunham, you understand what she’s doing: “I’m fat and ugly and unpopular, but maybe if I add ‘cruel’ and ‘obnoxious’ to the list, I can pretend like people who don’t like me are intimidated by my intelligence and courage.” This isn’t really an effective compensation, but it provides her an excuse — a rationalization, a defense mechanism — she can alternately cling to as a crutch or wield as a weapon, harming others without actually helping herself. The damage is never healed, because her inner feelings of worthlessness are so intense, she scorns as contemptible anyone who wants to help her: “If you like me, there must be something wrong with you.”

All of which is a necessary preamble to the latest manifestation of Lena Dunham’s tendency toward vengeful cruelty: People complained about the lack of diversity on Lena’s Not Very Popular HBO Show, so she decided to bring on a black guy . . . as a Republican villain:

I want to start with the fourth scene of the entire season, which is you, topless …
… on top of Donald Glover.
Having sex.
Yes.
Which is pretty much a summary of every single thing that people complained about in season one. How conscious was that?
We always wanted to work with Donald — he’s the cutest and the funniest, and why would you not want to kiss him on TV? But I think that when we shot that scene, there was both a feeling that it was the appropriate place for the character to be and a sense that it would, for people who had been paying attention to the backlash, at least evoke some sense that we were in a dialogue with our audience. It definitely wasn’t a “Fuck you, haters!” That’s not really how I tend to roll my game. But at the same time, it was a pretty clear statement that we are comfortable, that there isn’t a political agenda against having black characters in the show.
Why make him a Republican?
We liked the idea of a Republican entering their universe. And Hannah doesn’t really have a clear sense of why you shouldn’t date a Republican; it’s kind of just like the same reason why you shouldn’t date a Nazi: You just shouldn’t.

Real-life black Republican Ali Akbar observes:

Dunham spends a lot of her time associating sex, bad sex, lack of sex, with . . . you guessed it, Republicans. . . .
So to avoid the show looking racist — Dunham creates a black character that she’ll teach her audience to love to hate.

Hey, her ratings might finally beat Honey Boo Boo . . .

UPDATE: Donald Douglas at American Power:

This is interesting because I was just reading about Lena Dunham at the Los Angeles Times, “Review: Lena Dunham’s ‘Girls’.”
“Maybe I’ll check it out,” I was thinking to myself.

Don’t bother. It’s just another reason why HBO isn’t worth the premium. If you like watching unhappy women try to cope with their self-loathing, just cue up an old Kathy Griffin special.

UPDATE II: Twitchy:

Did we mention Dunham was named one of 2012’s “Brave Thinkers”?

I don’t watch TV as it’s a gross waste of time. I have far more important things like Read “Camp Of The Saints” Or trim my toe nails.

But, if the pic is of here she’s not bad looking. If women like that couldn’t get a guy to marry them, then about 90% of women would never get married.

The Tat marks here as an idiot, however.

Lena kind of looks human in that picture. She generally is kind of a vile he/she.

Strange, someone who thinks they are intellectually/artistically edgy, sure relies on the old, tired trick of nudity and vulgarity to get someone to notice.

I’m glad I dropped HBO when I heard they were making the phony Game Change into a movie.
A premium “pay” channel, that goes out of its way to trash half of the people in this country, just doesn’t make any sense.

We gave up ALL satellite TV two years ago and never looked back. $100 bucks a month to watch reruns of the same old tripe every week was pure B.S.

“I have often been called a Nazi, and, although it is unfair, I don’t let it bother me. I don’t let it bother me for one simple reason. No one has ever had a fantasy about being tied to a bed and sexually ravished by someone dressed as a liberal.”

Check out the “art” of Caroll Dunham, Lena’s father, and you’ll start to see the source of her tastes and standards.

This chick spends an awful lot of time thinking about bad sex. Maybe she should try married sex, or sex with a guy she loves, or sex with a man who would not want her to kill his child in the womb.

I tried watching an episode of her awful show. Garbage.

I even tried watching her totally unwatchable movie. Garbage-er.

I have said it before and I will say it again: she is about as unappealing – in every way – as a woman her age can be.

Someone on another blog referred to her as “that doughy stevedore” and I can’t top that. Precisely.

Maybe McCain is right. Maybe the problem isn’t her sex life. Maybe the problem is just her. From the little I’ve seen, she seems like one screwed up chick.

And now she appears to have revealed herself to be a flaming racist. Part of me deeply suspects that democrats never really got over their racist roots. There are just too many of them who let slip racist remarks. There are just too many incidents like this one. And I am not one who believes in cooincidences.

They don’t just have racist roots. They have a racist stem, leaves, and seeds. To be a racist is to be a liberal. Pretty much every word out of their mouth is racist is some way.

Liberals want to demoralize and demean minorities, especially blacks so they sucker them in with a few food stamps and Obamaphones and pretty soon, you have a subjegated voting block.

Rinse and repeat with the next minority group.

Rush Limbaugh was right about the reason why feminism was invented: to give unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of life.

    One reason, anyhow.

The main reason it was invented was to give Marxists an easy way to make inroads upon the mainstream of life.

I have watched a few episodes of Girls. It struck me as truthful and depressing. She has pathetic relationships and wonders why. She does explore the dynamic on her show. I saw the episode where she goes back home to Michigan, meets some pharmacist who wants to take her out, she manages to bed him and creep him out in the process, then goes back to NYC to be with a guy who likes to masturbate and be humiliated by her (but when she tries to join him he says it is not about that). That is an interesting pathology…but someone like that really can’t lecture anybody.

Actually, parents who raised self-entitled precious-snowflakes and the public school system is how we got the cult of Obama. But, I’d be willing to include “profoundly damaged personalities” along with psychopathy, as an end result of the aforementioned causes.

Welcome to the “ME” and “FREE” generation, folks. As that author from Pravda recently wrote, don’t give up your guns. It isn’t the government we’re gonna need protection from. It’s those sociopathic brats. They’re “legion” after all.

  32. Angie (D)
    January 13th, 2013 @ 12:20 am

Psychopathy is a profoundly damaged personality disorder.

But we’re both getting to the same end, I just think they way these special little snowflakes were raised and the damaged personality disorders they manifest are related. IOW, I posit that one led to the other — these precious snowflakes were taught to think only of themselves, to expect the world to lay rose petals at their feet by virtue of their existence and to never, ever have personal responsibility for their actions and — what do you know — they grew up to be narcissistic sociopaths.

    God help us all.
