‘It was certainly the Superbowl equivalent of a Cheap Trick.’

by Smitty (gracious hat tip to No Sheeples Here)

So said American Glob of the famous-going-to-infamous Audi advertisement during the Superbowl.

Not so fast, says this blog: there be some economic stimulus afoot. We are now ready (eat your heart out, Dustbury) to unveil a new line of Green Police Stilettos of Peace:
Your government will now be able to contain your interest in the exercise of Constitutional rights with the most positive, environmentally friendly restraint imaginable.

We also plan green cuffs and nightsticks, just as soon as Ming Tzu gets our sweat shopfair trade factory online in ____.

So be sure to buy goodies for the whole family. You sort of already are anyway, as a glance at page x,xxx of a certain piece of recent legislation will reveal.

“The American people are not ungovernable, just F*****G UNDISCIPLINED,” a senior administration official in the White House was heard to yell from within the Treasury Building.  We feel that this new product line will help the country make great strides in this area.

Enjoy!

I loved that audi commerical. Sure it was promoting a supposedly green diesel. Seriously, who cares. Like audi gets America. I would never buy an audi.

What I liked was its open mocking of our green overlords. I found it funny (even though it was promoting the taking away of liberty). Consider it a humorous warning.

Darleen at PW is all over this.

Including David Roberts of HuffPuff saying that the Super Bowl was catering to teabaggers. David Roberts just loves saying teabaggers, but probably not as much as Mr. Roberts loves teabagging. Anderson Cooper likes it too.

What amazed me is that Audi first ridicules the enviro-kooks and then tries to sell an enviro-whimper car. If it is outrageous to be oppressively green, I should avoid their chitty-chitty-stink-bang diesel in protest!
