Rich Lowry: Palin-Hater

Aaron Goldstein at The American Spectator:

Yesterday, Jim Antle drew our attention to Rich Lowry’s chart on how prospective 2012 Republican presidential candidates would vote on the Obama-McConnell tax deal in its present form.
As I noted yesterday, Lowry’s chart was incomplete because he had left Sarah Palin blank. Palin, in fact, voiced her opposition to the deal back on December 8th.
Yet as of 1:53 p.m. EST today, Lowry still has Palin blank on his chart.
Memo to Rich Lowry: Sarah Palin votes ‘No.’

Yeah, you know what I just noticed about the NRO list of “prospective” 2012 candidates? He doesn’t even list Herman Cain.

Rich Lowry hates women and minorities. Pass it on.

UPDATE: Lowry has now acknowledged Palin’s “no,” but still doesn’t include Herman Cain as a contender. Thanks to the commenter who pointed that out, and also to the commenter who pointed out Erick Erickson’s very interesting mention of Herman Cain as a grassroots favorite. Let me point out a couple of facts:

  • Newt Gingrich is not going to be the 2012 GOP nominee, and his semi-campaign is just a fundraising/publicity stunt. He tried the same thing in 2008, BTW.
  • Anybody climbing aboard the Tim Pawlenty 2012 Victory Bandwagon is on their way to a massive disappointment. Pawlenty’s a decent guy and a conservative, but there is no way he’s going to win the South Carolina primary. Depending on who is actually in the field, Pawlenty will get a share of the “Please, Dear Lord, Not Mitt Romney” vote in the Iowa caucuses. That’s it. The dude has a charisma deficit.

So scratch those guys off the list, and there are some other minor candidates you can scratch, but it’s important to scratch Gingrich and Pawlenty up front, because there are Serious People pretending that those guys are actually in contention for 2012, which they aren’t.
