Vice President Rex KramerBiden Wasn’t Sure On The Bin Laden Raid

Mediaite on our wunderkind second in command:

Vice President Joe Biden spoke to a conference of House Democrats in Maryland today, and in discussing the SEAL Team raid that successfully took out Osama bin Laden, he admitted that he advised President Obama not to carry out the mission because “we have to do more things to see if he’s there.” The vice president gave an insider account of the internal discussions in the White House before the order was officially carried out.

I can imagine the scene:

Biden: ‘We have to do more things to see if he’s there.’
Panetta: ‘How about we send in a SEAL team?’
Biden: ‘Yes! If we find out Bin Laden is there, we can. . .’
Panetta: ‘Send in a SEAL team?’
Biden: ‘We must cut DOD waste! Just send in the one SEAL team.’
Panetta: ‘Very good, sir.’
Biden: ‘Stick with me, young lady, and learn you some leadership.’

This story brings home Biden’s Rex Kramer level of obliviousness. Note at ~18 seconds into the clip:
The second pair of sunglasses leaves the picture momentarily, and the bows are pointed the wrong direction when Kramer’s arm comes up. Is Biden really all that out of it? All that and more.

It’s funny because when Newt won SC, everyone said out of the box Florida would be a tough get for him, because well, Romney has more cash, and practically everyone with clout in the state was already a surrogate for Mittens. Now that Newt is only doing 10 points better than he was in Florida before the SC win, it’s a disaster for him.

I know there was a stretch where Newt was leading (maybe). But he was always going to have trouble there. Winning half of 4 contests does not make for ‘inevitability’ anymore than winning of 1 of 3 did.

How much better a President could Obama have been if only he had asked Biden’s advice on every issue – and done the opposite?

Can you imagine how funny it would have been listening to Bush/Cheney discuss THEIR plans for getting Bin Laden

I suspect their plans would have been identical to what Bambi actually did after agonizing debate: “Just kill him”. Your point, please?

Read the papers. Bambi’s plans worked,
Bush and Cheney’s didn’t. Get the point?

“It doesn’t matter what they say in papers ’cause it’s always been the same old scene: there’s a new band in town, but you can’t get sound from a story in a magazine. Hey, that’s your average” propaganda hack.
The same military worked the case and did the job, despite the change of elected officials. The elected officials give approval, and take blame/credit.
To argue otherwise is somewhere between ignorant and silly.
