Some Guy You Never Heard Of Wants to Be Some Woman You Never Heard Of

Posted on | May 9, 2012 | 30 Comments

We must preface this with the observation that any pop music group with an exclamation point in their name is almost certainly gay:

Against Me! singer Tom Gabel reveals plans to begin living as a woman in the new issue of Rolling Stone. Gabel, who has dealt privately with gender dysphoria for years, will soon begin the process of transition, by taking hormones and undergoing electrolysis treatments.
Gabel will eventually take the name Laura Jane Grace, and will remain married to her wife Heather. “For me, the most terrifying thing about this was how she would accept the news,” says Gabel. “But she’s been super-amazing and understanding.”

Ladies: When your husband gets a sex change, that’s what we call, “Becoming a lesbian the hard way.”

Also notice the “Fun With Pronouns” factor in that article: Tom Gabel “will remain married to her wife Heather.” Except that her marriage won’t be legal in North Carolina, I suppose. Is this “gender dysphoria” or just semantic confusion? Has pro-gay-marriage Obama denounced anti-gay-marriage Obama yet?

(Via Memeorandum, as if this were about politics.)

Justifying expensive, dangerous surgery, lifelong shots and pills = “This is what I really am! This is the real me!”

Finding out a coworker takes prescription medicine for heart disease: “Why do you put that stuff in your body? Are you trying to DESTROY your liver?”

    Um…”dysphoria” is a mental condition. Just sayin’….

P.S. Don’t forget that the reason we need to talk about this is that children have a right to a mom and a dad. Never forget, basic rights of children are being denied here. That’s the point.

Kids aren’t commodities. They are human beings with rights.

Isn’t it really becoming a lesbian the soft way?

Not to worry – ObamaCare will happily pay for the surgery, they’ll just deny old people hip replacements to balance out the costs – “Maybe Grandma should just take the pain pills.”

Just like being “gay” is a mental condition.

O/T – Obama has announced his support for gay marriage.

Excuse me, but children have a RIGHT to a loving home, no matter who is caring for them. Whether it be their grand parents, siblings, mother & father, mother & mother, or father & father, etc. It doesn’t matter who is caring for them so long as they get the love and respect they deserve. Just as any other person, regardless of age. Also, you do not know this person at all. You don’t know about the private life she has with her family.  Have you ever seen Tom with her daughter? It’s beautiful and she is very loving and caring. There’s no doubt in my mind that she won’t be able to love and respect her daughter as she did before her decision to transition. So really, there are no basic rights being denied here.

“We must preface this with the observation that any pop music group with an exclamation point in their name is almost certainly gay”

The name of the band, “Against Me!” reeks heavily of passive-aggressive progressivity, preemptively claiming hypothetical attack and victimization.

    I have something to confess.

The realization started to come to me in the fifth grade when I read all of a certain novel.  It grew stronger when I read other novels of the same sort.  Then I went to events, and even, ah, roleplayed as…., and then I went archery shooting with fake arrows…..and it was revealed for certain.

I am not a male heterosexual human, but a male heterosexual elf, more precisely an Elflord of the Silvanesti. Now this will require certain efforts.  I’m going to need my ears clipped in a Chinese weedeater.  And I’ll need some sort of bleach wash because although I’m a Viking, I’m not as pale as an elf.  Also, I’m not seven foot tall like a proper elf, so I’m going to need some bone enhancements, and elvish cowboy boots.I’ll also need to spend several years at Har-vahd learning Elvish as all I know now is ‘Mae govannen’ which means hello or something.Luckily you will be able to prove you’re not a speciest by giving up a week of your family vacation to pay for this.  I would thank you for that, but that would imply that I owed gratitude, rather than that I deserved this.

What I’m worried about is my neighbour wants to be an Ent.

I know a woman who used to be married to a guy who did that.  4 kids together.  Sad situation.  She’s married to a much better man now.

-As for your neighbor: perhaps he just wants to have a real woody.

Soo…, he just conceded NC, he’s probably lost Indiana and will try to run against Walker in Wisconsin, doubt that pays off either.

The insensitivity and blatant disregard for individual choices made by other human beings demonstrated by the posters on this forum truly saddens me.
Laura’s struggles are Laura’s struggles. The way her family and friends deal with those issues are their struggles. They seem to be very supportive, and will likely encounter pain and confusion during Laura’s transition, but that is no business of anyone else’s.
The fact that we live in a country where a human being is free to live his or her life the way they want, where someone isn’t afraid to be the person he or she feels they were born to be — whether that refers to gender, sexual orientation, religion, or career — makes me proud to be an American.

The fact this guy’s wife is willing to stick with him post op implies she has already been riding another pony for a while now.

And it may have also cost him Iowa, Nevada, Ohio, Florida, and maybe even Pennsylvania (and I almost forgot, Virginia).

On the bright side for him it might bring his approval rate in Oregon up to an even fifty percent.

Does he/she plan on keeping his/her wedding tackle?

I’d be looking at Heather, if I was a friend, wondering. [what. the. f**k?]

That’s what’s called an open marriage. Where you can see other people and they’re you!
