If Not the SOU, then Tax Day

I’m still trying to coordinate lunch with the Pink Elephant Pundit to see what, if anything, will be shaking on the Mall for the State of the Union address this month. The abject failure of Al Gore’s Global Warming (colleague: “I told you: it’s Climate Change!”, to which I replied, “It’s warming in the negative direction.”) shouldn’t scare those who understand the Valley Forge symbolism of it all.

The weather and the schedule uncertainties will not accentuate the turnout for a State of the Union protest, in any case.

Tax Day, on the other hand, is both a certain and impending economic impalement. 15 April falls on a Thursday this year. The Tax Day Tea Party will be an excellent opportunity to gather enthusiasm and signal the country’s level of acceptance of Progressive policies. Possibly less than jovial, that level.

Stacy’s planning horizon rarely extends beyond the next Gonzo excursion, but I daresay we’ll have some kind of Smittypalooza gathering for those near the Crapitol. Plan now. Anybody who pays taxes, that is, who participates in the economy, should be joining in the “National WTF? Chorus” on that day, irrespective of voting status.

It would be awesome to see a huge turn out for the SOU. Really drive it home that we aren’t happy with that stupid healthcare plan and that we think he is doing a crappy job.
