Conor Friedersdorf Is Not Adolf Eichmann

Let’s just clear up that little misunderstanding right away, OK? To my knowledge, I have never asserted that Friedersdorf was an SS-Obersturmbannführer, nor even that he aspired to such a position. Why Conor is acting so defensive“Who me? I’m Riccardo Klement, an innocent Argentine technician!” — I’m not quite sure:

Suffice it to say that how Mr. Wieseltier formed his opinions about Mr. Sullivan is a subject far too complicated for me to understand. What I can say with certainty is that too many blogs cynically use the charge of anti-Semitism in the most dishonest, disgusting ways imaginable. . . .
As this episode ends, it is fitting to examine but one example of how this kind of meme spreads upward in the blogosphere. . . .

Being mistaken for Adolf Eichmann is probably not Conor Friedersdorf‘s biggest problem. Rather, as Dan Riehl says, Conor’s problem is that he takes himself far too seriously.

Conor really likes Jews, despite the nasty things he’s said about Mark Levin. And let the record be clear: Conor Friedersdorf is not Adolf Eichmann, no matter what any of these crazy Internet bloggers claim.

It’s terrible how this kind of meme spreads upward in the blogosphere.

On last night’s Red Eye Robot Andrew Sullivan was one of the guests. It was a spot-on parody of the demented Brit.

The whole show is not available on the Fox site, but they have one of the segements up [http://video.foxnews.com/v/4014769/flying-in-the-face-of-islam]; he comes on at about the 5:15 mark. They usually repeat Thursday’s show at Saturday at midnight.

Unless you drive to and from work everyday, I have never understood how so many people have time to listen to the radio.

I am with Mark Levin on most of his principles, but the snippets people have sent me of him verbally pounding a caller sound more like 4th grade antics than a reasonable discussion. I guess that’s part of the talk-radio culture I don’t get.
