The announcement:

From July 23-24 AFP Foundation will host the third annual RightOnline Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. . . .
RightOnline will bring together the foremost new media experts to train attendees on how to be influential grassroots activists and sway public policy debates through the use of online tools and strategies. . . . .

The “foremost new media experts“:

Congressman Mike Pence
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann
Herman Cain, Nationally Syndicated Radio Host
Erick Erickson, RedState.com
Stephen Moore, Wall Street Journal
John Fund, Wall Street Journal
Ed Morrissey, HotAir.com
Guy Benson, Radio Host
Stephen Kruiser, Fox News Contributor
Phil Kerpen, AFP Foundation

Be sure to attend Right Online 2010 — and give my regards to Erik Telford, who made sure I wasn’t invited. Again.

Congressman Pence and Congresswoman Bachmann are “new media experts”. I think not; they’re Conservative Republican stalwarts in the Halls of Congress, but I’m more of a “expert” on new media than they are; and that’s saying a lot.

Tsk. Stacy, did you want an embossed invitation? Get your fedora’d behind to Vegas.

Lyndsey: I understand you’re arriving late to the story, and there’s too much to explain it all. However, in July last year, I promoted Right Online, saying that “everyone important will be there,” and added:

Y’all have fun. I wasn’t invited. Like I said, “everybody who’s important in the conservative blogosphere.”
No, my feelings aren’t hurt. I’m chopped liver, and chopped liver doesn’t have feelings. But why does Americans For Prosperity hate me so much? What did I ever do to Erik Telford to deserve this purposeful snub?
Never mind. It’s all my fault, I’m sure. Blame me.

A couple weeks later, I was again snubbed — this time by my friends at Red State — and began to marvel at the consistency of the pattern. The only possible conclusion is that, whenever someone begins planning a major gathering of conservative bloggers, the first order of business is not inviting me.

Finally, on the Saturday of the conference in Pittsburgh, in one of those double-dog-dare-ya stunts, readers hit the tip jar and said: “Go.” So I drove 200 miles to Pittsburgh and, within a couple of hours after my arrival, provided extensive coverage at The American Spectator, which was followed up with subsequent feature coverage, to say nothing of the coverage at The Other McCain.

So whereas Telford had purposefully snubbed me by leaving me off the list, I returned good for evil. And Telford, apparently having recognized his error, promised me that I’d be invited to Right Online 2010.

Well, I’ve been snubbed again, haven’t I? Why should I bust my ass to make this trip — and beg my readers to hit the tip jar to pay for it — when Telford has gone out of his way to make it clear I’m not welcome?

Conor Friedersdorf wants to be Erik Telford if he grows up.

But if you cozy up to “Little Napoleon” Erickson and get him to put in his magic King-maker word for you, surely the sea will part and you will be in the door with comp drinks.
