Economic Ignorance Syndrome

Professor William Jacobson takes a closer look at the latest poll numbers. What’s shocking is that, according to the WaPo/ABC poll, 20 percent “strongly approve” of Obama’s handling of the economy. Which means that the editors need to fix headline on the article:

Blacks support Obama no matter what he does. That gives him a baseline of 12%. So really only 8% have brain damage.

It may be poor long term judgment, but voting in your short term self interest is not a sign of brain damage. 20% probably benefit under Obama’s plan (at least in the short term).

Examples: New federal hires, union members, welfare recipients, community organizers, cronies of Obama, City of Chicago political appointees, etc. They are voting for their gravy train.

I hate to break it to you, but Obama and his cronies are sadly not unique in their hatred of America nor in seeking its destruction. A good 20% of the population of America is filled with self-loathing for our nation, and so by “approve of” they mean that they are quite thrilled that Obama is destroying our economy, because they want evil capitalist America to suffer.

Preferably, in an ideal world, the other 80% would take that 20% of the citizenry and stuff them into the Deep Horizon well to plug the leak.
