Buckley disavowed Buchanan and Sobran because he was going soft. he showed that by later running others off that had made National Review what it was and started turning the keys over to kids are that are very inconsistent in their conservatism.

Buckley was not sucessful in destroying either Buchanan or Sobran because they had a base in other parts of the media. It did hurt Sobran, But Buchanan didn’t even notice it.

National Review, on the other hand, is very much poorer for the loss of people like those two. People Like Brimelow are also grads of Buckley’s increasing softheadedness. The Internet has rescued conservatives from being trated in teh same way the left has treated it’s ignorant minions.
