Thank You, Vermont!

Dear Vermont Voters:
That’s really great how you elected a self-avowed socialist to the Senate. I mean because otherwise, when we conservatives tried to warn that socialists are attempting to take over the country, people might scoff at this as an implausible menace. But then there’s Sen. Bernie Sanders:

The Vermont senator took aim at Wall Street bankers and the wealthy, who he says will be the beneficiaries of the policy.
“How can I get by on one house?” Sanders said. “I need five houses, ten houses! I need three jet planes to take me all over the world! Sorry, American people. We’ve got the money, we’ve got the power, we’ve got the lobbyists here and on Wall Street. Tough luck. That’s the world, get used to it. Rich get richer. Middle-class shrinks.”

“It’s like ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,’ if Mr. Smith was
(a) a communist and (b) played by Abe Vigoda.”

So to Vermont voters, on behalf of conservatives everywhere, I just wanted to say, “Thanks.”

We’re not laughing with you. We’re laughing at you.

Sincerely,
Robert Stacy McCain
