‘Pass This Jobs Bill — Or Thugs Will Rape and Murder You,’ Biden Implies

Posted on | October 13, 2011 | 19 Comments

“In 2008, when Flint had 265 sworn officers on their police force, there were 35 murders and 91 rapes in this city. In 2010, when Flint had only 144 police officers, the murder rate climbed to 65 and rapes — just to pick two categories – -climbed to 229. In 2011, you now only have 125 shields. God only knows what the numbers will be this year for Flint if we don’t rectify it.”
Joe Biden, Oct. 12 in Flint, Michigan

Is Biden implying unemployed cops turn to lives of crime and rapine?

Apparently so. Why does Joe Biden hate the police?

Plugs Biden, the gift that keeps on giving.  He seems to be suggesting that budget cuts will mean less police on the street (leading to more crime).  Whatev.  Maybe Biden can go talk to Harry Reid on why he blocked the jobs bill from going to a vote…oh yeah, they did not have the DEMOCRAT votes to pass it (despite a majority in the Senate).

If you send money to me I promise to rape or murder.

I don’t rape or murder anyway, but the extra cash would be nice.

Imagine if a Republican had said this…

Here’s a thought, quit passing restrictive gun control laws and other kinds of regulations that make gun ownership prohibitively expensive to low-wage and middle income earners, and maybe, just maybe, there won’t be as much need for as many police. Maybe, just maybe. But of course, this is a god damn Democrat we’re talking about, so I guess we can forget making that point to a fool like him.

According to the Carolina Journal (John Locke Foundation) the federal funding for teachers, cops etc is for one year but states accepting such largess must agree to rehire for two years. Thus avoiding embarrassing layoffs this time next year.

Keeping the people unarmed keeps them on the Democrat Plantation…  Hence their hatred of the 2nd Amendment and the rights recognized therein.

    And remind @thehermancain:disqus
that this right “shall not be infringed.” Not even by states.

Wait.. Is this the same jobs bill that Obama was sitting on until after his vacation in at Martha’s Vineyard?

How many people were raped and killed during that time?

While I realize it’s a rhetorical question, why exactly is it the Federal Government’s business how many police Flint, MI employs? Or anyone but Flint’s, for that matter?

And why should the good folks of Phoenix, AZ (or anywhere else) be purchasing extra policemen for Flint?

I assume Flint has revenue of some sort, right? People are still largely paying their property taxes? It would seem that the folks who run the city have decided to allocate their (presumably) insufficient, dwindling revenue in such a way that they’ve cut the police force in half. Clearly, they have higher priorities than maintaining the former employment levels in the police force… and they’d know far more about their actual needs than Joe Biden.

‘Course, with old Slow Joe, that’s hardly saying much, but still.

Most of the “stimulus” programs for states came with similar restrictions.  The money was used to save government jobs at the state level by allowing states to kick their own fiscal dilemmas down the road – but guaranteeing those problems will be worse when they finally must be addressed.

You will find – and I don’t mean to pick on Flint – that many jurisdictions cut police and fire first responders first, on the theory people will then agree to tax increases.

Notice whenever a city wants a tax hike, they talk about laying off cops, firefighters, and teachers, and never about Diversity Commissioners or the Office of Ne’er-do-well Relatives.   The bureaucracy and patronage jobs are always safe.
