Media Gets ‘Tantalizing’ Thrill From 2007 Palin E-Mail Joke About Divorce
Posted on | February 28, 2012 | 23 Comments
You’ve really got to wonder about people who would waste time chasing after stuff like this:
Also there is one tantalizing e-mail from Sept. 26, 2007 — almost a full year before she was tapped for the unsuccessful GOP presidential ticket — with the subject line saying “Marital Problems.” Addressing two of her gubernatorial aides, she said “So speaking of … If we, er, when we get a divorce, does that quell ‘conflict of interest’ accusations about BP?”
That is apparently a reference to the oil company her husband, Todd, worked for. The oil company and the state would have a lot of dealings, but what exactly is meant in referring to the conflict of interest is not clear.
Of course, it was a joke:
In a Twitter post Saturday, Palin poked fun at the media for their treatment of her e-mail, writing: “Good work, media. My ’07 ‘divorce’ email was a joke mocking you for making up divorce rumors. Keep up the, er, credibility-building efforts!”
And they call her stupid?

Only CNN would bother to dig up a five year old email from a person who is neither a candidate nor officeholder this cycle anyway.
That they miss the joke is just typical. Look at them: not the brightest bulbs on the Ramadan Tree.

But some of the people who will spread the story around will damn well know that it was a joke, but they also will damn well know there are enough idiots out there who will only hear or read the headline ‘Palin contemplated divorcing in 2007’ and store it as a fact.

How could she have played a joke on the MSM back in ’07 before she was a candidate and the MSM hated her? I don’t understand her excuse…
February 28th, 2012 @ 2:59 pm
She doesn’t differentiate between national and Alaska media. “the MSM” refers to the Alaska media, who in 2007 were alleging a conflict of interest because Todd worked for BP and Sarah regulated BP.

I’ve already gotten questions from people who didn’t check the date and wanted to know if it was true the Palins are going to divorce soon.

It’s not all that hard to understand. The Alaskan media were accusing her of conflict of interest because Todd worked on the north slope and she was in conflict with the oil companies and the CBC. You’ve got to remember that what she accomplished in Alaska was under extreme resistance.
Even if you aren’t aware of what was going on at the time, her insertion of “er” should be your clue that she wasn’t serious. Do you ever use the word “er” as part of a sentence?

Especially since the response from one of the aides was:
“Very funny.”
Have you ever responded to someone who was seriously declaring they were getting divorced with “Very funny”?

I’m definitely thinking of writing her in for the Kentucky Primary, and maybe in the general election as well. I know, Adjoran, Obama will thank me for my support lol.

Apparently some of the donks are worried about the GOP having a brokered convention…

I rest my case, your honor.
February 28th, 2012 @ 5:03 pm
Sarah…Sarah…Sarah…
February 28th, 2012 @ 5:33 pm
Well it certainly would be worth the entertainment value to see her promoted at a brokered convention, since I have finally found my voting raison d’etre: give as many people the vapors as possible.
Palin/Santorum — burnin’ rubber and spewin’ carbon on the highway to Hell.

[…] Though this post is not directly related to the primaries, it is well worth a read for the laugh it […]

Don’t tell Ace or Allahpundit.
After all the hard work they did to help the Demos drive her out, that is…
“Negatives are too high”.

Nobody’s going to slow me down!

It would likely be screenshot worthy…do it! do it! do it!

Ooooh, I saw you fellas on TV when I was watching Fox. If I were not feline — I think I would be in heat.

She is stupid, but the media and people are stupider. She also lies. There were no rumors out there when she wrote that e-mail. But she’s raking it in every time her name comes up with this sort of nonsense. She doesn’t have to beg for a $10 click on her website with this type of attention. She got a couple million clicks from that blurb. Heck she might have released the info herself for that kind of money
February 29th, 2012 @ 10:25 am
You, uh… you did know there’s media in Alaska, right? They don’t spend their evenings huddled in igloos chewing whale fat for fun.
Well, most of them don’t.
February 29th, 2012 @ 10:27 am
You know this how? Have you read all the back issues of the Anchorage Nearly News? Listened to the tapes of the local talk-radio shows up there? Dedicated is what you must be.
February 29th, 2012 @ 5:25 pm
Good luck with that, I don’t think you can even comment on Allahs page, its closed to new comment registrations, just like Malkins. And Ace has so many bullshit comments on any given one of his posts he’d probably never see it.
February 29th, 2012 @ 5:28 pm
Yeah, she’s so stupid she was appointed to regulate the oil industry, was elected mayor of a city and governor of the state, so what the fuck does that make you, beeatch?
