When Your Gun Is Not Your Gun

Your firearms are your private property and you have the right to sell your private property, right? Well, not if Joe Biden gets his way:

“[T]here is a surprising — so far — a surprising recurrence of suggestions that we have universal background checks. Not just close the gun show loophole but total, universal background checks, including private sales.”

Last week, I explained that when liberals talk about “closing the gun-show loophole,” they mean prohibiting inviduals from selling their own guns — so that your gun isn’t really your gun anymore.

What’s the problem if you can go down to Wal-Mart, or any licensed gun dealer, and have them run the background check before making your private sale?

You don’t have the right to sell to felons or mentally ill. And I don’t see that you have the right to not know who you are selling to, when a background check can be run in an instant.

It isn’t sales to strangers they really are trying to eliminate. (You can always sell or trade your gun to/thru anyone with an FFL.)

No, what these totalitarian nutjobs want to do is limit your ability to give your gun to your son or daughter, or brother, or nephew or niece or cousin or neighbor.

Or trade or barter them like anything else you own. Exactly! And then they need to explain just exactly how that kind of law even relates to, much less would have changed the outcome of any of the mass killings that they are using to justify curtailing your ownership rights. They can’t. And the criminals are never going to register, get background checks, abide by laws or regulations.

Because then your ability to sell your own property depends on the availability and willingness of such gun dealers. The same ones that the ATF coerced into making illegal sales in Operation Fast & Furious.

Oh, and “instant” background checks? Not in some states, Colorado currently has a 10 day backlog which is an illegal “waiting period”.

I’ve got one more comment and then I’ll try to go to my corner and chill. There is not one single stinking thing that they are suggesting that actually should make anyone believe their motive is to protect people in theaters or children in schools or prevent these horrible tragedies from happening again. They know what works because it’s what they are already doing. Armed body guards and secret service details, armed security at schools their children attend, armed air marshalls on commercial flights, armed security guards and metal detectors in every airport and courthouse in America. That’s how you protect yourself and others from the criminals and crazies who will always exist. And we’d better start doing a lot more of what works if we’re serious about protecting those we love.

The problem is that this is pretext for data gathering in lieu of registration. Already FFLs are required to maintain their sales records forever. Once this provision is in place, registration is no longer necessary. It becomes insanely easy to simply seize the dealer’s records when the government decides it’s tyranny time. Then you send the troops, or maybe the police, or even mercenaries out to round up the guns. Objectors are met with overwhelming force, while the historically illiterate low-information citizens nod their heads in time with CNN, muttering “Served them right.”

It’s happened every place that had a genocide since modern firearms were invented, from Turkey at the turn of the 20th century (sorry about that Armenians!) to Rwanda. First the registration, the the confiscation, then the genocide.

Ask Jews for the Preservation of Firearm Ownership.. They might help enlighten you.

We are witnessing nothing more than a calculated gun rip perpetrated on the American citizen. A tyrant’s approach to exploit a tragedy only to be used to further a socialist agenda of rot and decay on the structure of the United States of American. To deny the citizens of their fundamental rights, to undermine and destroy the Constitution that this Country was founded upon. Those who would do this are a perversion of what is good and right and suffer from their own mental incapacities of greed and power. They should be held in nothing but contempt and disdain by the law abiding citizens for their abhorrent and loathsome display of uncaring concern for the victims. A white wash as well as should be expected from this group of socialist reformers with no true sense of what America truly is, only a blurred and skewed vision of what they want it to be.
Some 18 years ago, Senator Feinstein was of the mind to ban guns in America, not just as a result of Newtown. Senator Feinstein who hypocritically has admitted to carrying a concealed weapon herself to protect her welfare. Senator Feinstein who has the Capitol Police at her disposal to provide security for her.
When running for the Illinois State Senate, then candidate Obama declared on a questionnaire that he believed in banning the manufacture, sale and possession of firearms. Obama and his family are the most protected people in the world. Obama who has said he isn’t sure if placing police officers in our schools is the answer but himself sends his daughters to the Sidwell Friends School. Sidwell hires special police officers which are armed and have the power of arrest. And, even while living in Chicago and wanting to ban those guns, Obama sent his daughters to the University Lab Schools of Chicago which employs armed security. Obama has just signed a law that gives him and his family life time Secret Service protection. George Bush had passed a law that limited it to 10 years.

Vice President Biden not long ago bragged about the guns he owns. Vice President Biden who is now chairing the commission appointed by anti-gun Obama to make recommendations to reduce gun violence. Vice President Biden who, before the first meeting was held, publicly stated he believed a gun ban could be pushed through Congress. Biden, who is ready to submit a comprehensive consensus of items to lessen these types of incidents that include banning certain guns, ammunition magazines and implementing even more restrictions on possession and sales. No mention of any mental health revisions. Not a big surprise but, Joe Biden, will help in denying the citizens right to bear arms while his grandchildren attend the Sidwell Friends School.
Hillary Clinton, the current Secretary of State, is the chief proponent of the United Nations Small Arms Treaty which would impose restrictions on gun ownership and undermine the 2nd Amendment Hillary Clinton who has her own government provided security detail. Hillary Clinton, married to former President Bill Clinton who has his own government provided security detail, sent her daughter, Chelsea, to the Sidwell Friends School
Rahm Emanuel, former advisor to Obama and present mayor of Chicago. Emanuel who drives around in chauffeured black SUV’s with his entourage of security guards and police officers. Emanuel who wants to ban the right of self protection even though his city has the highest homicide rate in 2012. Emanuel, more than 500 people killed, sends his kids to the well armed University Lab Schools of Chicago. They are escorted to and from by armed security personnel.
The mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg who has an armed security detail and police officers with him everywhere he goes. Bloomberg, has made major contributions in the welfare of individuals by doing such things as banning big gulp sodas and baby formula. Banning the clergy from a 911 anniversary ceremony and most avidly wants to ban guns. Bloomberg, who Obama is consulting with on the “unbiased” gun committee, sent his children to the Spence School. The Spence School employs armed security officer. Even David Gregory, host of NBC’s, “Meet the Press”, who chastised Wayne LaPierre of the NRA on national television, sends his children to the Sidwell Friends School.

Yes we need to stop it now and we also need to go on the damned offensive instead of just scurrying around worrying about what lameass trick they’re going to pull out of their hat next. We need to start posting lists of socialists, islamist, marxists, globalists ……any group whose stated purpose is to subvert our culture and our values to replace it with their totalitarian model of anything else. Start with those espousing legislation, regulation or policies which are in direct conflict with their oath of office. It needs to get loud and go global. When conservative bloggers get on the same page they are a force to be reckoned with. All of these threats come back to one root cause and that is a wish to undermine, subvert, destroy America, our constitutional republic and our way of life. We need to acknowledge what it is and call the enemy out for who they are every chance we get.
