Rule 5 and Immigration Policy

Years ago, I propounded Rule 5 — “Everybody Loves a Pretty Girl” — as one of the secrets of blogging success. And I have also stipulated that, despite my somewhere-to-the-right-of-Tom-Tancredo stance against illegal immigration, I’m firmly opposed to a crackdown on beauty queens who have overstayed their visas: Bring me your tired, your poor, your Miss Universe contestants yearning to breathe free.

So . . . some people don’t seem to appreciate the humor in that.
