Email rumors abound today of a new right-of-center news site called Rare that is set to launch Real Soon Now. It looks like this is a venture backed by Cox Media Group, and edited by somebody who is excellent, as judged by her career trajectory, but with whom this blog has had a totally schizophrenic relationship, for reasons that are beyond my control.
This is an exciting development. There aren’t a lot of challenges we have that more traditional voices in the media can’t help solve. Bookmark Rare now for good justice.
Haven’t heard a thing about it beyond the teasing announcements about 6 weeks ago. Who’s the new editor? More importantly, are they looking for staff writers?
So this unnamed person in charge, who we will call Habitha Tale, is in charge?
Good luck Stacy. Maybe Smitty will be able to get you in, and only if he asks them nicely, with strawberries on top.
looks like a forum for the No Labels crowd … Scarborough and Brooks are quoted early … then we get Christie …
give it a month and they’ll be doing “the Tea Party is racist” stories …
Haven’t heard a thing about it, but what else is new.
Another website I won’t need to visit.
Their selection of quotes is a judgment call, but I’ll tell you right now–they definitely need a line editor. Someone who can punctuate, for instance.
Marco Rubio? I’ll pass.

I would take issue with the Allen West quote on the Rare.us front page. I say that while an armed man is a citizen, a disarmed man is livestock.
Horizontal scrolling has been done before and not successfully. http://bunyipitude.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/family-values.html
It’s quite annoying.
Rare is not well done.
[…] This site seems half-baked. (H/T, Smitty) […]
Heh. I get better quotes over tea and scones everyday.
Especially as he was quoting a multitude of others who have said the same thing.
True.
Snark worthy.
