The Pervert Rights Movement

In the 21st century, the rights of decent law-abiding citizens must always yield to the rights of freaks and weirdos.

That’s the lesson in the Chicago suburb of Orland Park, Illinois, where the local public library considers it their duty to provide perverts access to Internet pornography at taxpayer expense. There have been reports of degenerates masturbating in the library and using the library’s computers to access child pornography.

You might think that Orland Park is committed to the First Amendment, but when it comes to the right of citizens to peaceably assemble and petition their government for a redress of grievances? Eh, not so much. Orland Park mom Megan Fox explains:

The most recent board meeting at the Orland Park Public Library was an illustration of tyrannical government in action. . . .
The public embarrassment and citizen outcry has not made one iota of difference to the hardcore leftists on the board. Their commitment to porn and the American Library Association’s insistence that [pornography] is protected in a public space (even when paid for by unwilling taxpayers) is unwavering.
I have spoken at five board meetings along with other members of the community. Each time the topic was the same. “Put filters on the computers.” . . . But at the last meeting . . . the board decided they had heard enough about the porn problem at their library. They arbitrarily decided we are no longer able to speak about anything relating to “computers” or “sexual misconduct” in their library. Keep in mind, these are the “free speech” people. . . .

(No, they’re free porn people.)

They bluster that those of us who don’t want porn in public libraries are trying to censor adults from hardcore porn or “information” in their words, but they have no problem actually stopping citizens and taxpayers from speaking to them!

Nobody is threatening the right of porn producers to “publish” their material, nor is any individual’s right to view such products at risk. Freaks can buy their own computers — hey, Amazon sells lots of computers for under $400 — and surf the ‘Net in the privacy of their own ~~homes~~ ~~public housing~~ ~~homeless shelters~~ basement rape dungeons.

The question is whether taxpayers are obligated to provide free access to such material in a public space.

No sane person would answer that question “yes,” but no sane person is a member of the Orland Park Library Board, which evidently has been captured by the Pervert Rights Movement.

Homer, I am not talking about the reading context of libraries. I am referring to how physically unsafe they have become for children due to policies of using them as homeless day shelters.

The monetization of the churches removed most remnants of Christ years ago.

False prophets abound, holy scripture is violated, and pastors want to be EVERYONES best friend rather than shepherds who are responsible for a flock.

There are a few Holy men left across the globe who are willing to stand for righteousness merely for righteousness sake.

Unless we stand together as one Body, wearing the full armor of Christ, the faith as it has been known for the millenias will be nothing but a historical remnant that will only be viewed in history books or museums.

Wow. It seriously never occurred to me that this is the real purpose of Westboro. That’s genius. I always wondered what the point of it was, but man that is so true that the Left uses it to discredit religious people. It’s an Alinsky Methods tool. I learned something new today. That really is what Democrats use it for. Remember that Fred Phelps ran five times for statewide office in Kansas as a Democrat.

Interesting note: around 4pm CST today PJ Media took down Charlie Martin’s pro-porn comments from Megan’s article at PJ. Only editors can do that, not commenters or authors. So someone over there did not like us talking on here about Charlie writing those things and they disappeared it all down the memory hole.

I have known several women who worked in libraries and every single one of them reports having this problem not only happen, but happen regularly. And every one of them has contemplated quitting library work despite how much they otherwise love it because what they encounter is so relentless and disturbing. And also, every single one of them reports being told by supervisors that basically they aren’t allowed to do anything no matter how bad it gets. Even when patrons are being harassed. Even when KIDS are being harassed and made uncomfortable by pervs. Oh, and some of them even report being required to clean up the “leavings.” Like the janitor at an x-rated bookstore. Appalling. People get master’s degrees to do this job!

Sad, but absolutely true. Of course I live in a city that is both extremely “progressive” and a climate-friendly haven for drifters of all types. Our library downtown literally stinks worse than a busy public restroom. I haven’t been there in years, even though I live 10 minutes from downtown, because the last time I was there, it was so filthy and disturbing, I wanted to run out the door before I could find my books. It’s scarier in there than out on the street at 8 pm. It used to be a beautiful place. It was a haven for me as a bookworm teenager. I would spend hours in there, browsing, looking at the art, finding records and sheet music. Now no way would I let a teenager in there without mace and a chaperone. If we need a book from there, we have it shipped to our local library, and even there, I won’t let my kids out of sight. We have an amazing, well-funded library system, and the physical locations literally smell like sewers and are less safe than the Greyhound bus depot.

Well my point is, the apathy in management is pretty much universal. So anyone who stands up to that, or files suit against them, has to be ready to never work in that field again. Which is a big deal, especially after someone has spent years and thousands getting the qualifications.

It happened decades ago when a 3 year Illinois state ACLU board member joined ALA, created the “Office for Intellectual Freedom” and the “Freedom to Read Foundation” then changed how librarians approached children. No longer would they protect kids from inappropriate material, thanks to the ACLU, now the kids becomes the targets for the inappropriate materials, and if you say a peep, even as a librarian, you are ridiculed to shut you up or forced out of your job if you don’t shut up. To this day librarians fear speaking up about this even though the ACLU board member finally died, but not until she was the de facto leader of the ALA for 40 years. Now the ACLU agenda is ingrained in the ALA and ALA will not allow any dissent or even discussion of the issue at all. The only time ALA does discuss the issue is to find a means to silence people like Megan Fox.

@disqus_v8H58ekMD1:disqus, please contact me, even anonymously, I want to publish on my blog what you said and more, and encourage other librarians to speak up as well. Deborah Caldwell-Stone just poo pooed librarians like you who say what you just said, basically saying sexual harassment of librarians doesn’t really exist. If I can get enough stories from enough librarians, the ALA OIF walls may start to crumble and libraries will start to protect librarians, not allow them to be harassed or worse.

If you hung a less than porn but salacious picture in a private office, you would be sued for creating a hostile work environment. The librarians working in public buildings are afforded no such protection.

This is not true either. The EEOC forbids retaliation. A librarian who sues for sexual harassment cannot be legally fired because the library would be instantly liable for major retaliation damages. This is the law. They would be legally unable to fire that librarian
